Best fun car or SUV for 4 kids ?

Currently have three kids and wifey is expecting a 4th. Need to upgrade from the F30 sedan. Anything out there which isnt a total grocery getter and can accommodate 4 kids ?

Maybe a BMW X5 with third row ? Wifey already has a large three row SUV so I dont need another large family car. I would prefer something smaller/sporty. X5 is about as large as I would go. Budge is about $40k

Thanks !

It looks like a 3rd row is needed.

One option to consider is Model X/Y with 3r row.

If you need a third row, I would recommend a plug in hybrid X5 with the third row considering you live in California

Assume youre talking about a jump seat in the back of a wagon ? I didnt think that was an option on the E63 wagon. Besides, its way out of my budget

I have 340 that is mine and I have blast in it. My teen daughter has taken our X1, but honestly for kids, I really didn't think it would be the best vehicle, but it is, and that is a van. The doors don't open into other vehicles since they slide back, so when the monsters jump out they don't don't hit other cars, you can pack half your house in the van, there is enough video entertainment to keep them occupied and their is enough space between kids to keep them separated (no complaining or certainty a lot less complaining) and you can take the dog.

We have done over 8000 miles of road trips since March and the van has served us well. When we recently flew and had to rent a car and had to put the 3 kids in the back, it was a disaster and in the end, either my wife or I had to sit in the back and play peacemaker. Anyway, just another point of view to consider for your 4 kids.

I agree a van is best, or at least a large suv with a third row and captains chairs. But nothing in that segment is fun. I dont expect a sports car that can handle 4 kids but something a little fun would be nice. Thats why Im leaning towards an X5 m sport or maybe even a range rover sport

Do try out Model Y, its low CG for a van actually may not be bad.

Sexy ride right there. That would be up there on my list too.

Fun doesn't necessarily have to be fast, and with 3 rows your options are limited. The x5s are nice, absolutely, but the ride in an Escalade or Denali is absolutely enjoyable. Maybe look into those?

I think condoms are probably the best solution here.

$40K for an X5 means you are shopping the used market. Have you read anything recently about the state of the used car market??

Minivan. Get a minivan. You won't look cool at all. Like never. But when all the other neighborhood kids are also jumping and screaming in the back as you drive them to hockey practice with all their gear, you can really appreciate eating a Big Mac sitting all alone in the M2CS that you don't have!
