Conti DWS 06 Plus?

I got 36k miles out of my PS 3+ A/S and looking at the updated DWS.

Anyone have experience with this updated line?

I'm trying to stay with UHP AS tires since this vehicle is mainly driven on the highway and I put a priority on wet performance. I just don't like the tread design of current summer tires.

I ran them on my '04 325ci & loved them this year. Had enough grip to get me through a freak spring snowstorm, were quiet and comfy on the highway & very stable in the rain as well.

I will most likely be putting a set on my 435i once I get new wheels next year.

I just got a set for my 440, replacing the stock P Zero runflats

Pros: much less road noise, bumps don't feel as harsh and much smoother feeling

Cons: there is a little bit of delay in steering input, mainly due to the softer sidewall. Immediately noticed it after getting on the highway with the new tires.

But so far so good- I am happy with the purchase. Wanted the Michelin PS4 AS but they are on national back order so got the next best thing.

If I was going to buy all season tires, I would definitely get the Continental DWS06 Plus. Several buddies have said good things about them and they are highly rated on TireRack.

But having run dedicated sets of summer and winter tires for the past three years it would take a lot to get me on all season tires, which are inherently a compromise. Summer Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and winter Michelin X-Ice Snow tires have the best grip in dry, rain and ice (winter tires) that I've ever experienced.

Ya I understand. I read the UHP AS roundup review on TR. They seem to like the DWS+ over the rest

Where in the SE are you? And you're not considering summer tires because of TREAD design? Wat?

I have DWS+ on my 18's for the three seasons. I agree with some turn delay, but overall they are great and do great in the wet.

out of curiosity, what rims do you have, what size of tires are you planning and are you lowered or not?

Atlanta. I do mostly highway so I prefer the more open block design of UHP A/S tires for wet weather traction at highway speeds.

Summer tires are almost pointless for my current application. I have little to gain from the closed block design.

Ok I thought you were concerned about the actual aesthetic of the tread haha.

Yeah if you're just cruising highways then a summer isn't going to benefit you at all though PS4S do perform very well in rain.
