"it could foster resentment among existing drivers of petrol and diesel vehicles"

Eh? Why?

Did anyone see the CarWoW YT video this week, Matt Watson on the 10 most expensive cars of all time etc.

One of them was the AUDI R8 eTron. I was vaguely aware of this model but I think he said it was something like below (updated below with figures, once I checked, this is what you got 5 years ago for your sporty EV):-

270 miles
4.2 0-62
£350,000
Jesus Wept, early adopter rinsing there.

Garage List
Decent range, sensible pricing and a recharging infrastructure that approaches the coverage, ease of use and speed of fossil fuel cars will get me into an EV.

A green band on a number plate will not.

Yet more bllx around the "green" cars.
There was N article the other day about all the extra rubber pollution caused by electric cars due to the weight. it was good as it stated there should be no tax relief for electic cars as if you take in all the factors they are not actually that green.

Yes no emissions directly but taking into account end to end there is a way to go yet.
