BIMMERPOST NEWS 2012 F30 3 Series Scores Full 5 Stars in Euro NCAP Crash Tests (Photos/Video) Brussels, 23 May 2012 - In the latest set of Euro NCAP results, the BMW 3 Series has received Euro NCAP’s maximum five star rating. The BMW 3 Series in particular achieved a commendable 78% in pedestrian protection, a good result for a compact executive car with no active bonnet. The F30 3 series scored 95% in adult occupant protection, 84% in child occupant protection and 86% in safety assist technology. Full results, photos, and videos of the crash tests are below. |

I wonder why the side curtain airbags didnt deploy in the frontal crash test, you could see the dummy hit the A-pillar pretty hard. I think it would have helped with head injuries if they had deployed.

I noticed that the seat belts didn't seem to pre tension very well. In fact they seemed to reel out rather than pre grip. Any comments?
