Have the drivers assistance package and parking assist.

My car also has collision warning so if I have the sensors, radars, etc what else would I need? Was hoping it was just a coding issue or maybe a part are two. Any advice/help would be appreciated!

Thanks
ACC requires the radar sensor in the lower bumper, itll always be a hardware addition no matter what options your car has.

Youll need- radar sensor, replacement lower grill, radar sensor wiring, ICM (maybe), steering wheel buttons, abs pump, new abs sensors

collision warning uses the optical camera sensor in the windshield.

If (and if is big question) you can find USED radar sensor, ICM, DSC Pump, Grill, Steering Wheel Buttons and NEW Wiring Harness, Custom Wiring and DSC Pulse Generators to all 4 wheels, you are easily looking at $2500+ easily.

If you buy all new, might as well double that.

Thanks a lot. Was hoping for a simple fix like the heated steering wheel retrofit. Way too much involved!

Appreciate the insight!

Yeah, i think mini uses the KAFAS camera for ACC and they can do the retrofit for cheap, but not bmw.

I was able to do it for just over 1000€ (~1100$), but I got all the parts second hand and was a bit lucky with finding the ICM and ABS pump for a very good price! All-in-all very worth it!

Agreed it's such a good mod that my next car has to have acc on it, it's not optional lol

Hi, who can tell more about ((S5DFA) Active cruise control+Stop&Go function) coding. Which modules need to be coded and if something special is needed

FEM, ACSM, ICM, DSC, HU, Kombi
You would mostly likely need to change ICM and ABS, calculate svt using modified FA and check which modules changes.

How much have you fitted already aidas? I've been gathering bits for this over the last few months. Just fitted the MK100 DSC ACC and now sourced an ICM so will start putting that harness together to run to the FRR next.

For the last few months I have been busy with retrofitting options 415, 5AG, 5AC, 5AD, 610, 8TH, 322. 5DF is my last retrofit this year. The most expensive and hard-to-find parts (ACC, DSC and ICM) have been purchased and should be delivered next week (I hope). The rest like grills, brackets, screws, nuts, connectors and etc. I decided to by new. The plan is to start installation somewhere in September, because now is summer and vacation time . Maybe I'll try to fit the DSC before the vacation. I already put harness from ICM to ACC when retrofitted HEAD-UP

Some choice retrofits there, you've had a busy year! I think i'll try and put the wiring in for KAFAS2 at the same time as this install, much easier when things are already apart.

Finally got the ARS3B BE2 radar today so next up I’m making the harness, then fitting that alongside the v5.6 ICM. DSC all in, coded and working perfectly.

If anyone is on the hunt for ACC bits I came across an MK100 ACC in the UK here - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204396604366

Hi everyone. some bad news for 318i owners. I tried to retrofit ACC, but my car cannot have this function at all. It turns out that even when ordering a new car for my model, it was not possible to choose the 5DF option. If you have BMW cars with a B38M engine, it is impossible to do this.
If anyone is interested, I have for sale all the necessary parts that are needed for the retrofit 5DF option:
DSC, ICM, radar, braket for M, grill, wheel buttons, cabel and some nuts and bolts.

Does anyone know how picky the car is with regards to the ICM HIGH units? I have a 2012 build F30 so its unclear which parts are exchangeable.

For example, you can fit a post 2012 build DSC on and it will work, its just that the brake lines won't match up so you'll have to fashion an adapter or bend them...see here

The ICM units all seem to be exchangeable after around 07/2013 according to realOEM...but for models with pre 07/2013 build date it doesn't seem like there are options, see here.

To make matters more confusing, it seems like most of the part numbers on the actual parts don't correspond to realOEM, so searching the parts often comes up with nothing...any insight? Thanks!

Besides the different brake line connections, pre-ewg (PWG) vehicles have the MK70 DSC electronics vs DSC MK100 for EWG 7/2013+.

Get the proper part.

Well it certainly would be a no brainer if the DSC wasn't so hard to find...I'd probably replace brake lines along with new MK100 DSC, because bending those looks janky as hell...in any case its probably too much money for an experiment.

If anyone has fitted a MK100 unit in a pre 7/2013 and Coded it to where it’s operating properly for ACC it would be interesting to know. The brake lines can be replaced or dealt with better than the pic in the other thread, but something in the back of my mind from several years ago was the MK100 DSC had different wiring and even more connections than the earlier MK70 DSC. Of course, this was years ago and I’ve looked at so many wiring diagrams since then that I might be thinking of something else and I’m certainly not going diving back into it just for this post.

Apparently the russians have done it...

The main challenge was to find DSC made before 2013 — it is different than LCI. Failed searching one, we decided to use LCI DSC, which has different connector, and as later appeared — different brake fluid pipes set up. This was not I expected, but it was too late to step back. Fortunately now it works well without errors.
Doesn't delve into how the differences in connectors were overcome.

Something I noticed doing a bit more research is that the ICM High is shared with the F25 - https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/par...&q=34526862759

I wonder if F25 DSC is compatible?

When you got your link instead of selecting the url, hitting select all and copy, then writing this post and posting link, you had instead clicked on the subsequent F25 links 3 times you would have had your answer in about 10 seconds.
