Hello, i just enabled this and works perfectly…thanks! Does anyone know how to decouple rear fog light from turning on front headlamps? When you activate the rear fog lights it also turns on the headlights. I would love to just have this on with angel eyes drl. Ive also coded rear lci to always on with DRL. Any help greatly appreciated!

I've performed this DIY to several F30's, both pre-LCI and LCI, and never ran into any issues. Now I tried it on our F36 LCI and couldn't get it to work. After digging through the forums, I've discovered that LCI tail lights on USA F32, F36, and F82 do not have the actual lights for the rear fog light. In this case, other parts of the tail lights can be used as the fog light. To do this, a different value can be used for Mapping_Nebelschlussl_L_output and Mapping_Nebelschlussl_R_output.

LEFT and Right Values:

0x1A and 0x1B - Inner turn signal

0x1C and 0x1D - rear fog lights that are absent

0x1E and 0x1F - Reverse lights

0x20 and 0x21 - Outer turn signal

0x20 and 0x21 - Third brake light on the rear window




After playing with these values, I found that the inner turn signal mimics the fogs the best as they are Bright and light beam is focused rearwards. Also, when the rear fog light is activated and turn signal is on, the inner signal will blink with the outer signal as well.

I have not, but I didn’t find the entire switch too expensive used either, think mine was $40 or so.
I have a modified stock switch but wanted the illuminated button that the EU have.
My EU switch also has the unused dial for headlight leveling but it doesn’t matter.

Installed the Euro Switch and coded rear fogs today - that's a welcome symbol in the instrument cluster. I found the switch online for ~$50. I was going to mod the switch myself, but in the end, I think it was worth the wait for the lighted button.

Can confirm, this also works with VLAND taillights. Finland doesn't require the left fog light to work for USA imports, but nice to have anyway.

Hallo, does anybody know what kind of leds are used here? Because the USA models dont have foglights

Which part of cluster is that? Why did you take it apart?

USA and Canada clusters have both, front and rear LEDs preinstalled. What the cars don't have - the rear fog light button in the headlight switch assembly to the left of the steering wheel.

The green square shows what is not present on the USA/Canada spec F series.

Its from an F32 LCI tail light! The USA models dont have leds on the pcb for the fog lights and i want to add the leds so i can use them

This is interesting... Love the idea and would work on it, but I don't have F32.

Well, you have to do your own research (size, voltage when powered, required resistors, etc). I've done similar thing by researching the smd LEDs that are installed on the pcb board of the switch. The switch in North America does not have the led for the rear fog light button:
