dmontic picked up his 328i sport with non-nav and he has the extended cluster. He is saying that it might be the premium package triggering the addition.

Well, picked up my F30 last night, and it does have the extended cluster! I did not order technology package or lane departure, but I do have premium package. My CA thinks it has do do with that, since they had a Sport Line in the showroom w/o any of the above and no premium, and it had the regular cluster...

Here is the link to my pics:

Sadly I got the build sheet for my 335i without Premium package and the sheet doesnt have the extended instrument cluster I guess Premium Package option add that...

very sad, too late for me to change.

Yes, I forgot to mention in my 335i build, that I purchased the premium package. That seemed to trigger option 6WA and as mentioned previously no nav or lane depart.

I have a 335i with no nav/tech pacakage and I do have the extended content display. I also looked at my build sheet and it was listed on it for n/c.

So in conclusion, yes all 335i in the USA will come with 6WA...

Unhappy

Someone please help me......i'm freaking out...Grrrrrrrrrrr..

I am at a loss because when I checked my pre production build sheet before I added the M-adaptive suspension option, it showed 6WA as a no charge item which was the extended contents instrument cluster..... now after I added the M-adaptive suspension the 6WA (extended contents instrument panel) option for no charge is missing from the build sheet!

Please can anyone explain why this is? Also, did adding the M-adaptive suspension screw over my chances for having the better cluster on my car? Can it still somehow show up?

My order is the following:
(My car is a WBAxxxxxxx VIN, so being built at BMW AG - Germany)
2012 BMW 335i - Imperial Blue Metallic
Sport line
Cold weather package
Premium package w/ Black Dakota leather & Red stitching
(Brushed Aluminum w/ Corral Red accent strip)
Premium Sound (680watt - 13 Harmon Kardon speakers + Sat radio) package
M-Adaptive suspension option
Variable steering option

P.S. Price paid in. the Pacific Northwest was:
4% Discount off MSRP + $300 BMW app promo discount & $1000 USAA DISCOUNT
(effectively a 6-7% off MSRP discount)

In conclusion, you likely ordered premium package which triggered the option.

I have a 335i Sport Line w/o premium package and my build sheet does NOT list the 6WA option.

It's not listed for the 2013 model year.

Was it listed as standard on the 2012 335i model year?

After seeing the different gauge clusters I'm fine with either one.
I am not going to get NAV as I don't need it, and certainly don't think the extended display is worth the $2100 for the NAV.

Any 2013 335i orders that show the extended display as standard?
Post here.

For 2013 Active Cruise, Tech Package, or Nav alone adds it. Those are the only 3 triggers I found.

You DO have the extended contents display! If you didn't the millage and such would be just orange like the old Exx models. Also if your gear selection is under the RPMs, then you have it. Which you do!

I just hope mine was somehow left of the sheet... After the Add of the adaptive-m suspension option was added before it went to production.

Is there any way to call BMW and have them list all codes that are built on my car? Like the widow sticker would list? Anyone that can help me answer that.... Please?

Thanks lots in advance....

Ok, so which one is the "Extended Display"?
mxdirtmx says that 'drivenbyE30' has the extended display, but others have pointed to the other one as being extended.

BTW, I posted a thread on the gauge clusters, and it's not just standard and regular.
The gauge clusters in each line have differences between each other. Then, there is the extended cluster.
BMW manages to create more confusion.
Why not just the SAME freaking gauge cluster for everybody?!?!
Why the confusion?
Even in my 3 series brochure, the pictures of the clusters aren't large enough to see the differences, and they don't show each one with lights on and off, so that customers can tell any differences. If we aren't shown the differences, then how can we decide which one we want. So in that case, why bother with all of this in the first place!

The bottom one is the extended cluster. I have talked with my CA and he said it is just for the sport line pckg. Doesnt have to do nothing with the premium pckg. Not sure about the 328i, but it is standard for the 335i sport line cars.

where is E90Fleet when ya need him? haha they certainly didnt have this all worked out for the 2012, but clearly its been streamlined for 2013. looking at the order guide, its much clearer how you do or dont extended gauge IMO. Also stoked they finally just brought Nav option back so i dont have to pay for HUD that i dont want anyway. thats the winner (and extended cluster comes as part of that option)

The way i understand it:

there is the regular display: which i got

and then

there is the "extended display" BLACKED OUT PANEL: which i wish i could have, but still have no clue how we can get it without feeling like a luck of the draw...

I had heard that the 335i sport line gets the extended version, but that doesn't seem true for all 335i's.

The 2013 info doesn't show extended as part of the sport line, nor for the Msport.

The other interesting aspect is that standard display has the multi color info lines, which looks better to me. The extended is all red lettering.

Just drove another 328i sport this weekend and it had the multi color standard display, which looks really nice to me.
The part I can do without is the "mpg" gauge. Kinda pointless really. But, I'm sure some will like it.
I think my E46 had that as well.
