Changing wheels on 19 440i xdrive gc, need tire advice

Hey yall,
I need to replace my wheels and looking to pick up a set of BBS CI-R (19x8.5 ET 35) and need advice on the tire size.
I have a '19 440i xdrive gran coupe (stock ride height) and currently running the stock staggered set-up (F: 19x8 ET36 225/40r19 R: 19x8.5 ET 47 255/35r19).
With a square setup in mind, has anyone had experience with 255/35 on all fours? Or would I need to get 225/40 to make this all work?

255/35 is fine. I'm running 255/40/18, which is the same outer diameter, but on 9.5 et 35

Ahh thanks, do you know if the 340i and 440i xdrives have the same clearance? Just trying to triple check since the company I ordered my wheels called to make sure, which I appreciate lol.

Thanks again!

I don't know if they're exactly the same, but you aren't running an overly-aggressive fitment, so this setup would fit either cars. Slicer ran a very similar setup to me on his 3 series, so I'd imagine the clearance is fairly similar

This guy ran essentially the same setup you're looking at on his 3 series as well

I think you'll get more responsive handling with either slightly wider wheels or slightly narrower tires. That improvement would come with a slight increase in NVH.

Basis:
I recently upgraded from 255/40r18 on 18x8.5 to the same tire on 18x9. The difference in dynamic response (turn-in) is significant, but there's more road noise and road feel (rough roads are more noticeable). With the shorter sidewalls you're running, the increase would be more noticeable.

Good luck.
