Hi guys, this thread is a little bit overwhelming. So much information.

Could someone please tell me if the first post in this thread, is still valid? Can I use this as a tutorial to get connected & obtain the right cables?

Thanks in advance.

the first post was right on. but as of today, updates were implemented on the new E-Sys 3.22.5
you can still use the step by step procedure created by the OP. that is the guide i used but mine is a little different because of the latest version of E-Sys

here is my folder structure running 3.22.5 and psdzdata 49.1

hey!

Thank you so much for your prompt reply.
I saw this in my FP today "8TN" which is a VO code for Non Xenon DRL.So I am wondering if Non Xenon(W/o Angel eyes, just normal DRL Lamps)& Xenon(with Angel eyes) Headlights have different VO codes for DRL.In case yes could you please tell me what is the VO Code for DRL of Xenon Headlights(with Angel Eyes)? So if VO code is different I think I need to change this code as well before I can code FEM_BODY right?

thanks in advance

I don't maintain that Spreadsheet, so I can't comment on why TPMS is not listed.

As for your "customizations", when the dealer programs your car, they are all returned to their default state in accordace with your Vehicle Order, so yes, they are cleared.

Adding newer CAFD's to an older PSdZData library does not always work though as the newer CAFD's often require newer binaries as well (.jar, .dll, .etc), so you may still require a full PSdZData update.

Your original post stated you wanted to go "from non xenon to xenon" lights, and nothing about DRL, so I gave you the VO Code to enable Xenon lights.

If you have stock Xenon lights though, and all you are trying to do is enable the Angel Eyes as DRL, then the VO Code is:

8TL Daytime Lights Front and Rear Active

And if you have CIC, you can also enable this to add a checkbox under iDrive Options to turn on and turn off DRL:

8TN Daytime Lights About Light Menu Adjustable

Lastly, once you have DRL's working, I think you can FDL Code this to enable the rear DRL's as well:

FEM_BODY => TFL_MODUS = drl_s (U.S.) or = tfl_s (ECE)

There are ways to modify your vehicle order as its stored in car. Do you know anything about this?

The retrofitters do this so retrofitted options continue to work after BMW software updates.

Yes, you can modify VO and write it very easily to the car (CAS and ZGW modules); however, depending on the VO Option added and the car's Production Date, even with the modified VO written to the car, Dealer's often can not program the car with ISTA/P. This is why even if the retrofitters for example retrofit a CIC Nav system where CCC was, or an NBT Nav System where CIC was, or 6WB Instrument Cluster where 6WA was, etc. you have to physically remove the retrofitted hardware, put back in the original factory hardware, and restore the factory VO for Dealer Programming.

As for the OP's original question regarding his customizations though, everything FDL Coded will be wiped out by dealer programming.

Shawn, Thanks again. You are always the Man. I will give it a try before I am going to download the full version. The 4 files were much quicker to download.

Btw, how do I find out what version of Daten file I am on?

Last, can you please pm me the latest e-sys and full psdzdata update. Thanks.

When you make connection to the car, just look at the I-Level in the Target name, and then cross reference it to the ISTA/P version.

TargetSelector: Project=F020_13_03_503, VehicleInfo=F020

For F20 / F30 Chassis, 48.2 PSdZData is the last you can use with E-Sys 3.18.4 without updating. For all other chassis it is 48.3 PSdData.

Okay so I got all the downloads done, installed, and patch/token applied. I attempt to open up ESYS and cant get through the "Loading ESYS screen". It gets to the Creating Log file on the progress bar and then just closes and nothing happens. Any idea ?

Thank you so much shawn.everything went perfectly and I have been to achieve first fully working oem xenon retrofit without any errors.

But because I had to disconnect the battery terminals so that I could play with the wires ,after I connected back the system has started to throw an error/reminder which is unrelated to whatever I did with the wiring or headlights. The system shows my car is due for service,i think because the date in the system corresponding to service is 12/2001 though I have already changed the date and time from the settings menu which got reset but its still unchanged and still throws error/reminder.please help!
