I passed 70000 miles and did a transmission fluid change just as a preventative measure.
The old transmission filter had real tiny metal shavings that you can feel when you rub your fingers together. But the car gearshifts had no other changes when you drive that you feel except in sport mode with paddle shifters. Those changes seem much smoother now.
You stated a transmission fluid change but not sure if you dropped the pan and replaced by your comment. Did you take any pics of your fluid for color comparison ?

We did remove the pan and get the pan replaced as FCp euro sends a kit with the pan that has the filter in built. Along with oil. I did not take any pictures but the oil was black and when I rubbed it between my fingers I felt that there was some sediments in it other than just the oil.

Just rolled 115000 km’s (71,457 miles). Daily driver with 50/50 city highway driving. Oil & filter changes every 8~10k. Transmission service will be performed shortly. No issues at all mechanically just the odd small glitch which is always a warranty claim. I have BMW extended up to 200k and plan on keeping it well beyond that. Fantastic car and well rounded with the N47 & ZF 8 speed.

Newb here and been lurking for a bit with a 2014 328d rwd M-sport pkg. Just hit a 100k miles and besides a driver door lock issue and a broken sensor in the rear diff cause by a track day incident, I've only done the scheduled maintenance. I would say 80% of my driving is hwy driving and usually I'm dogging the car still. Either on the brake or full throttle and I leave the car in sport mode most of the time. Bought the car with 20k miles CPO and been hard on it since day 1 of my ownership with aggressive driving at autocross and boredom of hwy driving. Also recently started loading the car down for camping trips and it doesn't even flinch. Been asked several times by the dealers if I want to trade it in but so far I love this car and want to see how far I can push it.

My 2014 328d has just crossed 45500 miles. No issues so far. Always changed oil and did maintenance at recommended intervals. During the recent service, it was pointed out to me that the thrust arm bushings are cracking and need to be replaced and it is a $600 job to do the replacement. I wonder what the typical lifetime of these bushings is and if they are covered under warranty.

That is odd for the TAB to go out that quickly on a 2014. Stock suspension ? Wheels stock ?

I only have like 38k miles on my cpo 2015 328dx f31. I bought it in feb with 35k miles.
I just got a letter from BMW the other day saying they are extending the warranty on my DEF filter or system... I'll re-read it again later. Anyone else get this?

Can you look it up and tell what that letter is about? Thanks!

Thrust arm as in the front control arm bushing? Do you have pictures of the cracking.

I am guessing this one https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...0i-31126855741

I don't have the pic of the cracking. I should get that first and see for myself how big the crack really is.

Wow you put some miles on cars. Have you had to do any work to it?

If you get one post it up. I would be intrigued to see how bad they are. I know in my old volvo I would eat up control arm bushings every 40-50k. They were very soft to provide a nice ride but the car was heavy and ate through them. I wonder if it is similar with these cars?

2014 F30 328D - Onward to 100K

2014 F30 328D (2.0L 4cyl) with 96K, 05/2018. First 38K within 5 months of 10/2013 purchase with 180 mile high-speed roundtrips to work. Routine BMW covered service to 50K no failures. Since then, I've performed all routine preventative maintenance; oil/filter (Liqui Moly 2041 Synthoil Premium 5w-40, plus Ceratec 20001, every May, Sept and Jan), air filter every May. At 85K, changed drive-belt, fuel filter and self serviced ZF8 8-sp using ZF pan & lifeguard-8 ATF (probably won't do that again, but I did save $1800 labor). Add Zerex G 05 collant as needed, hoses still supple. What failed? EGR and Diesel Particulate sensor. BMW sensors need BMW dealer or authorized tech shop part registration (they call it calibration) to ECM. Changed brake fuild and have ready to install Zimmerman rotors and akebono ceramic pads, but BMW Command still shows 4000 miles remaining on Factory OE brake set at 96K. This is a rock solid car. At 86 mph, in Texas open highway heat, thru the Permian Basin, the 2.0L uses 60-80 lbs torque/40hp (2150rpm) to get 41 MPG w/620 mile range. No downshifts for passing required.Yep, posted limit is 80mph. Anyhow, over 86 the chassis is like glass. Too bad kindneys can't go more than 3 hours. God save the CAT and timing chain set, they are the bitter end.

Why wouldn't you do it again? I am about to take on this job in the next month or so.
