That's 8 for Labour now..
How many more?
I hope it means comrade and his ilk get kicked out or splinter into some nutjob lefty cult and we have a more normal opposition again. So long as they stay in opposition mind you |

I noticed that Derek Hatton has rejoined the Labour Party too....didn’t think they could go much further to the left . At least comrade Corbyn will be happy

Sooner the country has a stronger (electable) opposition the better it will be for all of us.

Are these people really saying that the antisemitic minority in the labour back ground is the main reason to be leaving? Surely it's more the general lurch to the distant far (in some ways populist) left that is driving them out. We know that the Labour party MPs don't like him as they tried to have him removed in a non binding vote, so what has changed?
What still amazes me is that when you don't have confidence from the approx 300 colleagues you have to work with every day that you have the audacity to belligerently stay in post, citing that well the great unwashed party members want me to promise them the world so I'm staying. Bonkers party, full of nut jobs sadly. Reminds me of the unelectable Neil Kinnock who went on to earn fortunes as an unelected MEP.

Unlike the formation of the SDP in the early 1980's, the Labour MP's jumping ship are political lightweights so unless the trickle becomes a flood (unlikely IMO) I don't think Comrade Corbyn and his crew will be too concerned. He'll therefore continue to move Labour further left which will in turn make them less electable (which is fine as far as I'm concerned!). |

I'd agree with the comments about Labour's unelectability
I have quite a few friends who are/were long-standing members of the party. Some would never vote Labour whilst Corbyn is in charge but can't quite cancel their membership and others have done just that, writing to Labour HQ and their local MP to tell them why they're leaving If you want an insight into why Labour is unelectable, just listen to any recent interview with Len McCluskey, who has a lot of influence and wields a lot of power within the current leadership. A political dinosaur, stuck in the past, and very dim

I am a bit worried this new group is going to become seen as solely an anti-Brexit group. Whilst it is true the breakaway MPs are disillusioned with the Labour leadership on Brexit given it has failed to follow through on its commitments to 1. Push for a general election or if unable to do so then 2. Push for another referendum, there are much broader well documented concerns which musn’t be allowed to fade into the background. I don’t have any problems with MPs debating how Brexit should be facilitated, but I do fundamentally disagree if any MP believes they have a mandate to do all they can to stop it.

Whilst I'd like to think that Labour are currently unelectable, I'm not convinced that's the case. There are still a lot of people who believe in free everything, and polls seem to be all over the place at the moment.
I also don't think having an opposition that is unelectable, or seen to be, is a good thing. Because of this, the Tories have been allowed to trash the police, schools and the NHS, as well as screw up brexit, with no comeback |

Not really both parties are getting taken over/have been by what should be fringe elements that's not good, I think this is only the beginning from both parties won't take much for the dam to burst, many will be waiting for funding and a party to be formed they need 36 MPs together, they would overtake the SNP as parliament’s third largest grouping, which would bring with it speaking rights every week at PMQs, select committee chair posts, and "Short" money – the public funds available to assist opposition parties with their work.
I'd be very happy for a sensible party to take over, PMQs will be interesting today!

I've felt for some time that there isn't a party I can vote for. My work, the NHS has been driven into the ground - just look forward to retiring from this rat race.

How bad the Conservatives are is demonstrated by the fact they’re only just ahead of Labour in polling. Any coherent, intelligent and well lead Conservative government would be 10+ ahead of the current opposition.
