In search of some coils.. I think 1 of mine has given up the ghost. I've no computer to check this, but the "Drivetrain malfunction" indication come on, and I have noticed some hesitation during acceleration. When I inspected the first 4 (most accessible) coils, I noticed 1 of them smelled of raw (unburnt) fuel, which lead me to believe that it's firing bad.

In my research on RockAuto, I find the Delphis for about $35 (CAN). I also call the dealer, and they quote me $140. Showzas!!

In my infinite wisdom (and ultimate frugalness) I wondered over to Aliexpress, and find a set of 6 for $100. In their photo, they look like the Delphi.

Has anyone been so adventurous to check this out? The way I look at it, I would almost throw $100 (incl. ship) away to satisfy my curiosity. Would they be as good at a set of Dephi for $35 each ($208 incl. tax and ship)?

are you saying that aliexpress coil pack would perform as if they're removed? surely they can't be that bad? why would they sell them at all?

It will say these don't fit. Trust me, as many others have stated in other threads, these are the current and correct OEM BMW coils for N55 as well as all the others listed.
