Honestly, if you really are against VRSF - the BMS is just going to be a solid alternative - the Evo 3 is too, but its double the cost and you may have issues trying to fit it on the Xdrive.

Are you saying that you actually have experience with the PTF/BM3 intercooler? What are you basing your comment on that all of the others cool better? I just haven't seen or heard of any data on this IC since it's so new. Please share what information you have?

I did look briefly at that thread and the datalogs and the PTF is showing IAT increases over a single 3rd or 4th gear pull, which only last a few seconds. I am withholding full judgement until we get more datalogs, which i requested from the guy in the other thread who said he purchased and installed.

For what application? After having ran stock, then stepped 5'', now race, my recommendation is go big or go home if you are going to be going FBO and stage 2/2+ tune

FYI shipping is probably going to be $50+ for that... I shipped a CTS intake that was lighter but probably similar size and shipping was $60 via the cheapest UPS option.

Anyways my opinion is get a bigger IC. That one is probably adequate, but with N20 you are going to be running even higher boost than i did on 5''. You can also be a guinea pig and try something like the MAD race which as i understand it is on a huge sale at the moment (assuming it fits your car).

Yeah, honestly given the sale on MAD race right now ($356.30 for race...) i would probably just try that... somewhat "untested" in terms of data reported here but at that price point and based on the picture i dont see how it could be bad value unless it doesn't fit (and customer service should take care of that).

I wish I had all of the FMICs that are being discussed on a bench right now to measure, weigh and flow test. From the photos, many could be from the same factory in China.

Could be, lol, that’s why my comment earlier being a white label brand that can be customized any way the vendor wants.

They aren’t all the same, but they are similar, there is just only so many ways you can package the IC on these cars.

But there are differences - internal core, external core, inlet diverter, height, depth.

It looks dimensionally identical to the VRSF race so no, it will be a pain to install but i fit the VRSF race in without any modifications to 2015 335i msport.
