Spacers

Hi All,

Hope you are all well.

So im planning on getting some spacers for my F30 running 442m wheels. I am thinking 15mm at the rear and 12mm at the front. Can you recommend any spacers at all?

Has anyone ran 20mm spacers on a F30 with the 442m wheels on the rears?

I've been looking at Bimmec and the Mtec ones...

Worth going with spacers from a reputable brand and make sure they're hubcentric.

I ran Bimmec spacers on my old e90, currently running Eibachs on my current F36, no problems with either.

I've just ordered some eibach spacers from Autodoc (about £104 for the set of 4) same set up as what you're wanting, 12mm front, 15mm rear. I'll put some photos up once I've fitted.

I tried 15mm on the rear of my f36 and they stuck out way too much I thought. Ended up with 10mm front and 12mm rear which is perfect. Wouldn’t go any more than that

Garage List
Try Lorcan for the spacer kit

He did me a deal a while ago on Eibach spacers along with extended bolts plus a set of AC Schnitzer security bolts.

I am also interested in spacers, but I am reading stories of spacers being stuck on hubs. Supposedly pry tabs help on removing them when they have seized on but only BMS spacers has these .

For the peeps who have run spacers and then removed them, are they easy to remove without pry tabs? ( assuming you copper slipped them when fitting)

Having just removed my spacers I can tell you they are a nightmare if seized. I used copper grease when I installed them aswell. i ended up having to heat them up, hammer a socket into a hole and proceed to beat them senseless till they began to move. I've had spacers on plenty cars before but these were especially problematic. They were bimecc 15mm. With the new 10j rears they were massively overkill

I like the look spacers give with the tyres more flush to the body.

However forgive the beginners question, but do you get any more tyre or road noise from the wheels being moved outwards in the wheel well? If not I may look at this when the alloys go back on next year...

I didn't notice any additional noise.

I have the Bimecc spacers 15mm rear 12mm front. Very reasonably priced and came with bolts got them from C M Wheels who did me a discount when I emailed them.
Only slight 'issue' is the spacers are slight smaller is diameter than the hub/wheel so the wheel (403m) sits slightly wider than the mounting surface/spacer. Now I've had these since spring, done many miles and various speeds and never had a problem. The alternative is Eibach Pro which I understand are slightly wider diameter however were double the price which, personally, I feel is a bit of a rip off given what they are. However depends how much you want to spend and how comfortable you are

Edit: apologies for photos being sideways, I can't seem to get the app to load the correct orientation.

Shopping around I'm finding insurance companies HATE spacers! Am I the only one?

Remap, sports exhaust, coil overs - all fine.

Spacers - "no sir we won't insure cars with them.."

I tend to find that 15mm works better visually if the cars been lowered a bit, and you're running a bit more camber.

My old 335d on coilovers and 15mm rear spacers looked great, whereas my 340 on ACS sports suspension looked better with a 12mm rear to my eyes.

And definitely put some copper grease on the spacer!

I have 12mm all round is all I need 15mm rear would be too much for me.

I've said it before, depends on what tyres you have as well. If on runflats they will appear to stick out more as the tyres are generally wider than non runflats.

Tazzy - extended wheels bolts for sale in the classifieds if you're interested - I've got the same ones, will work with 12mm and 15mm spacers.
