Unhappy with BMS intake sound...

anyone else have this “issue” it’s a little too high pitched of a whoosh, I think. Does anyone make a replacement heat shield or box that has been tuned for better sound?

Im going to assume the filet and connector are somewhat interchangeable in terms of performance by the brands but the enclosures may provide different sound properties.

Not enough woosh? sure i can see that, but the tone is a bit high when it’s heard.

I've tried a few F chassis intakes and they all sounded the same to me. I like how the BMS is plastic as it stays cooler than metal and the filter has a lot of surface area. Maybe try adding cardboard around it to see if you can make any difference then have a sheet metal piece made?

That's the sound of the intake on that engine as the turbo spools (regardless of what CAI you install). If you don't like the sound, I'd recommend going back to the stock airbox as they have all the resonators, etc to muffle that.

I personally like the open intake sound but it sounds like a closed intake is the better option for you OP.
We carry Dinan and AFE closed intakes if you are interested in replacing your current setup

Don’t like open intakes. Dirt gets inside the motor and engine bay heat. It also doesn’t see pressurized air coming in from the front like the closed intakes do which helps turbos out.
