Opinion?

Want to add a slightly custom look to may 440 cab and seeking opinions to ;

A. Is the ride comfort of a 20” tire on a 20” 405 M wheel...smoother than the OEM 19” M wheel with run flat tires?

B. I don’t want to lower the car (lease) but want to improve the look of it? Is there a nice wheel that tricks the eye wth an offset or surface face to visually fill the wheel well? Spacers maybe?

Thanks to all for your input!

If I were you I would get spacers and non run flat tires. 20 inch wheels are an overkill of the car. Only worth it to fill the wheel arch if you have an xdrive or non m-sport

From a styling perspective wheels with more narrow spokes will look larger. Decreasing the number of narrow spokes helps as well. I've also noticed wheels which have lighter colored spoke faces and a darker lip and barrel will appear to be larger. A good example are the 442m wheels. At 19" they are already pretty large, but I think visually they look bigger than they actually are.

20" wheels + tires just don't offer enough side wall for a comfortable ride whether with non run flat or go-flat tires. They however look incredibly appealing .. until the first encounter with a pothole.

19" OEM 442M wheels are one of my favorites as well.

Another option: 19" OEM 437M wheels from M3/M4.

Thanks for the input guys. After much consternation and deliberation- vanity wins...given the car IS an x drive...felt I had to go 20” to deal with the visual gap..and I will avoid the pot holes where possible. Bought OEM 405 package and purchased staggered 19” snows to mount on the OEM M sport rims for the winter months. I saw a set of 405 on a 440 coupe at dealer and they looked (way) better live then in photos.
