245/40-19 & 275/35-19?
Will a 245/40-19 and 275/35-19 fit on stock adaptive M sport suspension Rwd car? Does anyone have pictures?
Not planning on lowering as I wont be able to fit into the local car wash with my front lip and this tire setup will actually raise me a little bit for piece of mind (BARELY clears right now). Lots of people seem to be running 275/30, but I want the height of the 35 ratio for the reason listed above. Still haven't decided on wheels, but I'm thinking 8.5x19 ET30 and 9.5x19 ET45. From what I've gathered the fronts wont be any issue. Will the 275/35 rears work on ET45? What about a ET42, ET40, ET35?

some tire brands and models are more broad shouldered than others. if the 245/40/19 you choose is a broad shouldered one, at +30 offset, it may rub something during full-lock turns or turning on grade transitions, see links below.
in the 2nd link bmw22915 is lowered and the slight additional negative camber from lowering would help to mitigate rub. at +33 his 245/40/19 has a 1mm clearance at its closest point of potential rub during turns. at +30 your fronts would be 3mm further out and i'm guessing that a broad shouldered 245/40/19(26.7" diameter) will touch something during full lock turns. it'll probably be just a "graze", though. let us know how it works out. since you are not lowering the rears are fine at any of the offsets you listed. personally i'd just use the +45. anything lower will cause tire poke and increase understeer, though likely unnoticeable. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1626903 https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1622695 Last edited by alohasurftoad; 07-12-2019 at 12:20 PM.. |

I was going off of Mr Tasty's setup shown here:https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1610240 He seems to be ok on stock M sport suspension for the fronts with 245/40 and +30 up front. However after reading those threads maybe I'll switch to +35 to be safe. For the rears I want to stay flush with the fenders and don't want tire poke, which is why I think +45 will be my best option as he's running +35 and a 265 tire and flush. Just want to make sure the extra height isn't going to be an issue with rub. Really appreciate the response and links. Those definitely help.

ahh... if you're doing MPS4S, i'd consider 235/40/19, 265/35/19. 26.4"dia. and 26.3" dia. will reduce gap and raise car 0.17". provide more sidewall and impact protection.
or if you can get the front wheel in +35, the 245/40/19 will not rub during turns. |

225/40 = 26.1" and 3.5" sidewall 255/35 = 26.0" and 3.5" sidewall Verse the michelins in what I'm looking at being 245/40 = 26.7" and 3.9" sidewall 275/35 = 26.6" and 3.8" sidewall So the michelins should techinally give me more height and close the wheel gap if I'm thinking about it correctly, right?

here is outofphase on 235/40+265/35. he is lowered, though so your stock m-sport would have more gap. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...2&postcount=23 |

Front - 245/40 = 26.7" and 3.9" sidewall Rear - 275/35 = 26.6" and 3.8" sidewall Wheels: Front - 8.5x19 ET35 (original post said ET30, but said I would change to +35 to be safe after reading the first threads you showed me) Rear - 9.5x19 ET45

245/40 seems big for an 8.5" width... I ran 235/40 and 265/35 on 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 and it was perfect.
Of course you can run 275/35 on a 9.5 as well... I just think that front 245/40 would be massive on an 8.5. Currently running 245/40 and 275/35 on 18x9 and 18x9.5 ... but I'm also on a full track set up so different circumstances.
