Thanks OP I've just sorted mine out too !
My renewal date is Tuesday and had already organised a new policy, but BMW worked out cheaper, only half the excess and, as has already been said, BMW Approved repairs and bodyshop etc. I read up the details of the new policy I had already paid for and T&C's confirmed I could have a full refund before the policy started. I've just organised that and now taken out a new BMW Policy. Thanks again.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm due for renewal next month so will have a look.
Currently on multi car policy with Admiral. Wonder how it will compare. Did anybody get a quote for swapping to winter wheels? |

I think the insurance industry has basically said collectively that winter wheels are no longer something to disclose.

Bit ironic really that a car insurance company would ever charge more for something that would reduce the likelihood of you having an accident.

Another thanks here from me OP.
I was already with BMW, but their renewal quote came through at £685, an increase of £135 over last year, on top of having gone up £100 the year prior. So I started a new quote and hey presto - £376 - well chuffed with that!

I got a really good quote, started to try and add mods.. said the same - give them a call, I was told they only insure mods that have been fitted at an approved dealer

My insurance is up for renewal so I thought I'd try deviating from my norm which is to use comparison sites... Once again, a waste of time, no mods but BMW wouldn't quote online (can't remember the last time an insurer wouldn't even quote!) Just don't get why not - my current premium is under £450 on a brand new M3 with business miles etc, so that should say something about the risk I'm considered... Glad it is working for some though...
