Modern Lotuses are a HUGE move on from cars even a few years ago now and the latest ones are really impressive - you just got used to all the foibles before. Admittedly they've become a weeny bit more expensive.

Very nearly bought another one this weekend (well it's 4 months since I became Lotusless for the first time in a very long while) - wife was around to tell me 'NO, not another'!!

Might have to give it a bit longer but test driving Evora 400 anyways.....

Yeah it's looks stunning.

Fair enough, may be down to how / where the panels are moulded, but frost blistering seemed to be rife in the non-garaged VX community, even with replacement clams. May be better on modern Lotus clutter, or possibly overblown in the VX community.

I just don't see how you can pay £800pm for a 340i when Riaz does fully loaded 335d's for under £600pm!

The RS6 is tasty but big, was looking at one last week.

Have even been measuring the dog for like of 135i lol.

He said he could fit in a Focus RS if it made me happy lol.

Have a Porsche dealership opening up shortly about 2 mins along the road, so will be in there a bit.
Had a run in kid brothers RS6 last weekend.

Goes like Fuckin hell.

Sub 4 to sixty doesn't really show the performance, as a lot of weight to get moving.

50 - 150 consumed in one lunge of turbocharged fury.

But it drives like a big Audi estate and if you are really, really gentle will do 20 to the gallon of highest octane.

No arguments with 570 bhp tho.

I honestly don't care overly about mpg.

Practicality is the first requirement.

However, I do like chuckability, which the RS6 does not really qualify for.

More of a fat bird on speed.

New Audi S4?
Merc C450 or C63?

Or leftfield... go buy an E60 M5 estate. You can pick one up for relatively good money and 10k miles won't be too bad for petrol. You'll just need to make sure you have a warranty!

Yes S4 Avant is on the list.

Must be new, not buying used - wife's rule.

while I say £800, if I get a 340 for £400 a month, then that's £400 spare for erm stuff.

Can you not trump it with a "must be a V10 rule"?

From what you have said, I'd be all over an F31 Alpina if they are still available new?....or I'd seriously consider a Polestar V60 Volvo at pre-registered dealer price of 45k

The problem with Alpina's is they go for stupid money. For new, I believe discounts are not easily achievable, finance is high APR and I think you only get a 2 year manufacturers warranty.

If there were good deals I think half the forum would have one.

You can get a new 335d or 340i for £15K+ less with lower APR. You really do need to be a die hard Alpina fan to go for one.

Just out of interest......

A B3 Biturbo comes in at £57450. An M3 can be had for £53542 on coast2coastcars on 4.9% APR and the M3 most likely has a better spec as standard.

Definitely not an Alpina, would rather get a 340i and hand Lorcan the car to sort.

Polestar a Volvo or a Manga character

Trying to avoid another Volvo.

I also guess the replacement should be 5.4 secs or less.

A fella on another forum I'm on has an RS6 with an Akraprovic exhaust....YouTube it!

My next car with be something like an M car or RS audi. Just couldn't justify it at the minute with throwing so much into finishing the house.

I reckon that's by no means a stupid idea. The F31 in big petrol guise is a fantastic car and with the suspension sorted it'll be hard to beat for the money. You also get the new B58 engine which will take more boost if power modding is your thing.

With a couple of careful options (full leather dash, HUD etc), you could spec up something quite special.

I reckon the B58 engine has a hell of a lot of scope for modding.

The gearbox is the bit that will limit things.

I reckon an ACS F31 340i would be well sorted.
