My new plan is to wait for someone on here to let me know when something newer than 2018-1 is available!

It is, I'm running 2019-1. It's just the luck of the draw as to what's available for each vehicle!

Just got the 2019-1 maps and FSC code on ebay for £18. Downloaded and installed the latest system update from BMW/updates then download the maps and installed via usb. Worked without fault. Happy days...

OMG - for the first time ever since owning, my maps updated via OTA today to 2019-1!!!

I was previously on 2018-4 and have always done USB updates as OTA never seemed to work

Maybe they finally fixed something?

But which ID do you have and map version?

I have a 2018 320i with Professional Media (609) and my latest map is 2018-4 so I have just spoken to BMW Connected Drive and they have told me that the Europe EVO 2019-1 map is released and available for my car however they have said they are experiencing issues with their portal if you are trying to download it via the Download Manager tool.

They advised for me to keep trying and to call back next week if I still do not have the update.

I think they have. Mine has auto-updated 4 times over the past few months, last time a couple of weeks ago to 2019-1.

Finally get 2019-1 as an update, spend about an hour downloading it to my computer, it asks me to choose which usb to download down to, i put in my 128gb stick that i used for the last update, now its saying formatted is wrong and needs to be Fat32, modern sticks are set to exfat which is better, why do BMW always make it a problem !!!

Does the car tell you it’s updated OTA, or do you need to check the installed version manually?

It tells you and aks if its ok to reset Nav. I think you can also see a little map logo in the top corner of iDrive as it is downloading too.

you should be able to use FAT32 or NTFS

Deffo never had any of that. Mind you, the car is only 6 months old. It was delivered with 2018-2 (in September), and I USB updated to 2018-4 as soon as it was available. This is still the latest available on the download manager.

Cheers, think it would let me transfer on to to a NTFS formatted stick, will give it a go tomorrow when i have a couple of spare hours, remember the last time , it wasn't quick
