It's cheap because it is out-dated technology. There are much better products on the market today.

As far as paste waxes go though?

Still inferior to a Mother's or Meguiars, etc?

What are the best paste waxes available?

Paste waxes are old tech as well. They can't compare to a good sealant. I use Menzerna Power Lock.

That's it, it's sold under both the Jescar and Manzerna labels. I apply it with a low speed DA buffer, let it sit an hour or two, then buff with a lamb's wool pad. You can do it by hand, but it's harder to get a nice even coat when applying by hand.

I don't use anything that I can't confirm UV protection with.

Also, living in an single garage apartment where A. I can barely open the door to the first notch because the garage is so narrow and B. I have no outlets, so easier is better.

I've decided to stick with Optimum Car Wax. It's inexpensive (usually under $17 on Amazon), extremely high gloss, and claims up to 6 months UV protection. I spray on two "coats" once every 3 months just after a coin-op wash after the sun has gone down. It only takes about 5-10 minutes extra after my wash!

Maybe my car isn't the glossiest car in the world, but it's always the glossiest car in the parking lot. No filters used on either photo attached.

Totally agree. Before I discovered coatings, Menzerna Power Lock was my go-to product. Great stuff.

Nu Finish is very streaky. You'll be disappointed.

Spend some time on Autogeek.net. You'll find something to fit your parameters.

Polymer Net Shield aerosols, then spread with applicator is my new favorite.

Power lock is awesome, but PNS is quicker and lasts just as long. The key is a good clay bar, then quality polish.

I did some quick research and Nu-finish claims to be a "polish" but it is a synthetic sealant that was designed in the late 1970's. When it hit the market it was one of the first sealants and performed well. Now we have far better and newer technologies so don't waste your $$$

So, I'm obsessed with keeping my car clean. I'm somewhat new to all this Ceramic, paint Sealant stuff...BUT. I've always used this stuff on my Audi's and never had a problem. I don't doubt that there are far far far more Superior Products on the market, but hey it's cheap and it works. In my experience, it's good for about 4-6 Months. I use McGuire's Ultimate Wash & Wax..the (Yellow stuff) then apply Nu car Polish. leaves a nice smooth glossy shine. beads off water too!!

I use Meguiars Ultimate too (with a foam cannon). Works great. Never ended up trying Nu Finish because everyone trashed it lol.

Just bought Menzerna Power Lock off eBay. Cant wait to try it out!

I saw that too! lol...If you look on Amazon it has an almost perfect 5 stars. It's quick and easy. I'll have to look up your stuff. With me though, I'm not one to spend 10hrs cleaning or polishing one panel. haha. I try to knock it all out in just a couple hours!

You can apply Power Lock by hand, but a slow speed buffer works a lot better. It has a tendency to clump up on the car when you apply by hand, so it can take a lot of rubbing to spread it about. Buffer application is much easier. As always put the material on the pad, not on the car, reloading the pad as required. You can coat the entire car in a half hour. Let it sit a couple of hours, then buff it with a fresh lamb's wool pad.

I need to learn to use a orbital buffer. I'm scared I'm going to burn through the clear coat or cause swirls! :/

With the slow speed you use for sealing or waxing you're not going to burn through anything or cause swirls. Swirls occur with high speeds and heavy cut compounds, they get taken out by progressively finer compounds. When you see a buffing job that left a lot of swirls they didn't spend enough time removing them with finer compounds.

There are also random orbit polishers out there. This is the one I got because I was also worried about burning through the clear coat.
