Unfortunately, BMW discontinued the LSD for the automatic transmissions 335i/435i.

Only put 150 miles on it, but the stability at high speeds has been pretty incredible. Just highway driving so far, but so much easier to take these big sweeping turns at 90+. Can't wait to start pushing it in the canyons.

Your limited slip differential is providing you greater stability at higher speeds on a highway? Maybe if you have 2000 horsepower and can break traction at 80mph.

didn't mean in a straight line. as I said around big curves. maybe it's just more of a confidence in feeling thing.

Rwd and xdrive use the same lsd part #. Just matters between auto and manual transmission. Good luck with the search

Wrong forum to ask. We all have the F series

Does anyone know if the new part number of the LSD 33-10-8-659-989 fits the N55 435i with automatic transmission?
The original 33107555607 is discontinued for years now.

The only other option I see for N55 F30/32 seems to be aftermarket diff builders that use a non-oem diff (Wavetrac, Quaife etc) and you need to send them your original core (differential).

I am wondering the same thing. From what I can tell it looks like this one has 3.08 ratio versus 3.15 of the factory diff or the old 33107555607 diff.

What is the impact of the slight difference in ratio other than the ~2% difference in indicated speed? Will the DME freak out and throw codes?

IIRC vehicle speed is read at the transmission output shaft. Now would the difference in the diff ratio impact stability control? I don't know.

According to realOEM, the 33108659989 part number is a 2.81 final drive ratio.

Also, drive shaft for the pre-vs post LCI car's are different - 435i = 1509mm, 440i = 1504mm.

Axle shafts are also different part numbers between pre- and post LCI automatics. It seems like LCI made the axles common between auto/manual and manual pre-LCI, but pre-LCI auto have a unique part number.

So the known issues with putting a manual diff into an automatic are driveshaft length is different, and axle shafts are different length, and some dust seals are different. Based on that known incompatibility, I believe this part number will not work for pre-LCI automatics, without additional parts being changed, or potentially custom work being done.

Managed to pick up a used M perf LSD, seller said had about 40k miles on it. I'm planning to drain and fill with new fluid, but is there any other maintenance I should be aware of or consider doing? It is off the car so now would be the easiest time.
