It is ok as long as you are doing blot dry(don't drag it on the paint surface). Microfiber waffle weave drying towel is what I am using for 1st stage drying. I will use plush microfiber towel for 2nd stage drying. If I clay/polish my car, I won't do 2nd stage drying.

I vote no. They tend to be stickier and "grab" the paint more. The good microfiber drying towels do an excellent job. Personally I use a blower first (leaf blower) then use a waffle weave drying towel I got from Detailed image to spot dry. It works really well.

I used to be diehard chamois guy but switched to a super plush drying towel a few years ago. I currently have Adam's grey borderless towels and they are amazingly soft and absorbent. I found very similar ones on eBay for half the price and will definitely buy these once my current set wears out.
The key is making sure they are made in a country known for high quality textiles. Not usually the USA. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F323298486568 |

To be honest, I drag. Im just very careful about starting at the top (cleanest part or vehicle) and working my way down to the rockers. Also... I regularly wring as well as "snap" the towel really hard in an attempt to liberate any particles that may have been picked up. Also, I have two fresh towels dedicated to the body ONLY and one old body towel that has been demoted to wheel drying. I treat these the towels just like my clothes and wash every use to keep them fresh and soft.

This is what I use with a drying aid (Meguiar's D156 or Wolfgang Uber Rinseless diluted down as a quick detailer)
