The firmware on it is very unstable, CCC does not communicate, idrive does not work, I think they confused it before me, can a new and more stable firmware be installed?

Is there any way to use RealDash app without OBD adapter/decoder? Since the multimedia is connected to CAN gateway, there should be a way Realdash app to use its signal.

No, there is no way. Android doesn't communicate with CAN bus at all. The MCU does and then it sends serial data to Android, which is pick up by a few system apps and acted upon or translated. But the MCU doesn't send everything, it's only programmed to understand very limited number of CAN packets. But that's irrelevant as it's not sending raw CAN data anyways.

I have a very weird problem with my HU. For some time now, whenever someone is calling me on the phone connected with bluetooth to the HU, the sound seems to be coming from the HU itself, not the car speakers (not even sure the HU has speakers on its own), and the sound level is very weak, I can barely hear what the other person is saying. It used to work fine until recently, and I'm not sure if I messed something up from the factory settings page, but unlikely. So the microphone works fine, the sound is there, but it's not going through as before. Not sure if anyone experienced something like this, but I wanted to try my luck here. Attaching the HU details below.

So you have an A10 unit, got yourself some update files from the A10 thread and you're posting your question in A9 thread...
You need to do these updates in increments, you can't jump from 1.8.2 to 4.2.9 straight away.

1. The main plug on the harness must be fully inserted. However, because the board flexes when pushing these plugs in, you must be careful not to break anything. I found that by putting something hard underneath the blue GPS socket, this stops the board from flexing and allows the main plug to be inserted all the way. This is the first point of failure for HU audio. ie. the HU may have power but poor audio.

2. After rebooting, many have noticed that the audio is very low. After reboot sometimes pausing and playing a couple of times will restore audio volume. Or, touching the volume controls (OEM NAV/Android Volume) in settings>audio will also restore it. This is why KSWToolkit has a setting to restore audio levels after booting.

3. Use a USB DAC, to output clear and amplified audio through USB into an audio jack. Even then, most people (except Shamanix) get their phone calls & DTV/AUX audio refusing to go through the DAC, thus following the Android harness wiring. One could use a 'volume booster app' (20% boost does not degrade audio quality noticeably). I also tried a mini mixer & amplifier in previous pages, but I was not overly impressed with the quality of the product. Although it did an OK job its jack inputs were sensitive to jack movement and was prone to noise/interference in the car (good on the bench).
