Either OEM or the sets on eBay/Amazon, they're very much the same when it comes to aftermarket ones

It'll take 30seconds of your time to find a set

I went with the Continental/VDO ones from AutoDoc which were £25 each I think. They are exactly the same as the BMW ones that came out, sans the BMW logo. Local stealer wanted £95 each for them. Erm yeah, no thanks.

They just worked. Didn't need to do any coding or anything, but the 1 - 100% calibration process takes aaaaaaaages.

VDO are the OEM brand IIRC

And re the calibration process; I found driving at speed really slows the progress down. But travel slowly for a few mins, it flies through the process

They are indeed. I think Continental have bought or merged with VDO. I've noticed Continental selling all sorts of things lately. Cambelt kits, Water pumps, Turbos, electronics et al! They're clearly not content just selling shoes for cars anymore!

Thanks for that, I'll know for next time..... in 6-7 years

Yeah they're not the quickest with shipping, 7-10 days on average, depending on stock levels in their warehouse. The way I see it is, if you're planning a job in the near future and the parts aren't urgent, the wait is no biggie

I know their mobile app is annoying and they spam you constantly, but it can work to your advantage.

For example - I put an entire brake job into my AutoDoc basket. 370mm & 345mm discs, all pads, handbrake shoes, all fitting kits, wear sensors etc etc, which sat at around £900 for all ATE stuff, which is the OE stuff BMW use.

Left it all sitting there whilst I did a final check online to find the best price possible, and within an hour I got "You've forgotten something in your basket, here's free shipping".

Forgot about it and went home. In the morning, I got "Action now to get 41% off". I thought, yeah yeah, what evs. I tapped on it, and sure enough, my basket total dropped to £740ish! The pricing was already -27% orginally, so they lopped another 14% off just for waiting.

So yeah, a complete M sport brake job for £740 using OEM parts seemed like a deal to me, so I pulled the trigger.

A nice little job for late spring

Yup. If you're not desperate for parts, Autodoc are very hard to beat...

And they've always got good prices on OEM parts from Jurid, Textar, ATE, TRW and Lemforder etc.

However. They're not always the cheapest. C3BMW and BMWmotormec here in the UK can be really good...its all about timing etc
