BMW 330e F30

Hi Guys.

My Alternator needs replacing. (BMW 330e, Luxury Spec, early 2016 F30 model)

Initially, I was getting a drivetrain error on screen, but purchasing a new BMW Aux Battery resolved this error. However, the diagnostic scan is still flagging up the alternator error.

As I am planning to do the job outside BMW, they want me to take the alternator out and take a pic of it, as apparently there are 2 for my 330e. (I

found this strange as they should know!)

1. Does anyone know how I can get the part number of the alternator?
2. Are there any alteratives to BMW where I can purchase the alternator (do not mind if it's 2nd hand/used)?

Did you try realoem. Enter your chassis number and do your search. Hopefully it lists the right part number.

I've tried to search for 'alternator' but it doesn't seem to pick it up with my VIM number.

I'm sure there's not another term used for it? or does anyone know which area it would be under if I'm manually searching for it? i.e. navigating via the various headers ie engine, electrical engine, etc?

the 12V system is charged via the high voltage system - the EME controls the HV motor and its the HV motor that also provides the charging function - there is no conventional engine / belt driven alternator on your car.
