Service lights not updated.
Hello, I have a problem with resetting the service lights. I replaced the rear brake pads but I can't update it. It's similar with oil service. Last month I deleted the oil service, but after turning on the ignition it still shows the old kilometer value. I showed everything in the photos. What could it be? Has anyone had a similar problem?

try this post:
https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...ighlight=reset post #7 talks about oil, but I think the same idea applies to brakes. |

The oil service is finicky about how soon to the iDrive guestimate it can be updated. It can't be rolled back. If you want to shorten the interval you have to code it. I don't pay attention to it. I change my oil in late March or early April, when the iDrive finally gets around to saying it's due I reset it to the following year.

They both say the service is due in Jan/2025 or in 6000KM. The reason you can't reset the OIL SERVICE (and why it says RESET IMPOSSIBLE) is because you haven't met the requirement yet for service reset. This limits the owners from pre-mature service reset syndrome. See the info below about service job needs to be under 90% availability...again, this prevents pre-mature resetting: Also see the tech notes at the top in the info below. It mentions CBS issues with reset for brakes...regarding the condition of the brake wear sensor.

Yes, you are right, they are identical. I meant the information displayed when the ignition is turned on. Every time I turned on the ignition it informed me about oil. Now the information when turning on the ignition is identical to that on the iDrive screen regarding brake pads. And I still can't update it.

Did a new rear brake sensor (#9 in diagram below) get installed along with the new rear brake pads? If the sensor is worn…then the service lights won’t reset. Or if the wiring is not plugged in correctly or has other issues…this can also create issues with the brake reset procedure.
Only asking because as I scanned back through the thread…I missed any mention of the brake pad sensor…which should be located on the right rear wheel. The front brake sensor is on the front left wheel.
