Tailgate blocked - won't open (F31 2013)

Hi everyone!

I've got an issue with my tailgate. When I got to my car this morning, I got an alert that my trunk was open. When trying to release/open it, it juggles but won't release. Glass window also locked, because it thinks the lid is open.
Impossible to pull it open, it seems like it's locked in the latch.

The car has recently been showing other symptoms: start/stop issues (car will not turn on again, as if the battery was low, but starts perfectly after a few seconds by pressing start button), front left Xenon headlight stopped working yesterday (put this one down to a faulty bulb/fuse - still need to check it).
Can this be related (battery / electronic issues)?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

It's not impossible that it's battery related, but to assume so and buy a new battery could be a very costly mistake. You probably need a thorough check of the electrical systems. That starts with pulling codes.
