Bmw f30 316i n13 engine questions/issue

Hello guys,I’m new on the forum but “old in the car community”
First i want to say that I’m happy to find people who love cars here on bimmerpost forum, after i have sold my e90 and I bought the f30 (316i because I didn’t find another car 320i or 328i on this price with low km (34.000km and 2014) i start to see some problems...I’m new on this tipe of engine N13 and I don’t know so many things about it.
The first issue that i have seen it it was the exhaust pipe(tips) to black for a benzin car and after that the car start to “eat” to much oil...i have been to the dealership and they completed with some oil and told me to drive around 1000km and to go back to them to see exactly how much oil the engine is using in 1.000km....after this drive i go back to dealership and they told me that the car was using between 1-2 dl oil...on the bord computer on oil check that have right but on the engine oil stick the oil it was on th half so around 1 liter of oil at 1.000km. They have send the report to Germany and this week i have an appointment because someone from bmw will come to check the car.
The second issue that i see...i have start the engine and it was a powerful vibration(that feeling that the car is working in 2 or 3 cylinder) or is “stilling some power/electricity and the same this problem will be checked this week.
The car is still in bmw warranty because the car is 2014.
The dashboard plastic glass is cracked from inside from the sun I think so (i just buy the car like this) and they don’t want to change it on warranty for the reason “the crack is to small” ))
Again they have right and I’m a fool for the. (The dealership is in Norway)

I have read here about “lunch control” and i see that is impossible for my car (the gearbox is 8spd automatic and I don’t have panel shift on my steering wheel)

Sorry for the long text,i just wanted to have a single post for everything.
Thank you guys

I've had the N13 engine twice. Once in a mini cooper S (N18) and once in a F30 320iA Efficient dynamics edition. Both didn't use oil. The Mini did 27k km without topping up. The F30 ran 98k km with just regular servicing. (long life intervals). I'd say 1 litre/1000 km is way too much.

I faced a problem similar to this one.

My car had this exhaustion, low oil and failed on the first start in the morning.

Troubleshooting:

- Leakage: O-ring of the oil level sensor and replacement of the oil filler cap.

- Foligence and failure: Replacement of coils and spark plugs.

Magically I solved all my problems with these simple maintenances, while mechanics recommended engine reworks to solve the defects.

Hello
I have a 316i 2013 and it has N13 engine. My car is around 144.00 km and i want to change the timing chain. Some of the mechanic said you don’t need to change it before it sounds weird. Doea anybody know the optimal km for timing chain change ?

It depends on the conditions of vehicle use, driving style and maintenance (oil change). If the oil was changed at 30k km, change it, and if the oil change interval was less than 15k km, then you can wait until 180-200k km.
