Help with the following fault codes pls! (030410, 8044B0, 420665)
Hello,
A week ago I bought my first BMW car, it's a 2013 328i. When buying it, perform a scan and I get the following faults: - 030410 Multifunction Steering Wheel (MFL): Missing LIN slave - 8044B0 Shift paddles: short circuit to positive - 420665 Shift paddles: (operation of the Shift paddles, 0x207) invalid signal It should also be noted that the horn sometimes stops working. I have searched the forum and youtube, but the solutions are very varied. Could you help me with your experience? I really love the car and I want it to be 100% Last edited by Frankenssteiinn; 11-08-2022 at 07:37 PM.. |

Look inside the steering wheel for wiring that has worn insulation. Obviously concentrate on the shift paddle wiring. Plenty of YouTube videos on how to remove the horn/airbag.

I will comment what happened to me and how I solved it.
The first thing is that the horn did not work and the paddle shifts did not work either. After checking the FEM fuse and checking that it was in good condition, what I did was completely disassemble the flywheel. Clean all the connectors and contact with isopropyl alcohol, disassemble the remote control and resolder the flex of the airbag strap. After that I reassembled the entire steering wheel and everything worked perfectly. Things to keep in mind: When removing the steering wheel you must mark it so as not to lose the center line and the rotation sensor must not move it. |

Shifters
Hey, I had the similar issue which I've got finally fixed last week. I was afraid it might be clockspring or even FEM. Luckily it seems that the problem was related just with paddle shifters. After replacement I've cleared the codes using bimmerlink. Since 2 weeks I'm testing them and the error codes never appeared back. Before replacement they were popping up right after I've cleared the error memory.
Maybe you will try the same first? Fingers crossed for ya anyway |
