As for CAFD Mapping, the built date of car is not relevant, what matters is the firmware date (e.g. a 5 year old car programmed last week by Dealer will have latest firmware and CAFD. not 5 years old, and the mapping needed is based on the current ECU CAFD version.
Thanks Shawn. As LauncherPRO 3.7.0315 is 2 years newer (but still old as you say), seems like that would be a good option as well. Where would I get that?

Unable to inject CAFD in HU

Hey all,

Lurker turned member here. I am having coding issues with my 2013 F30 where there is a missing CADF file for HU_Entry. I have tried to Inject the CADF through the Detect option as instructed by the other threads with no luck. The below errors keep reoccurring:

I am currently using E-Sys V3.30.1 with Launch Pro. On an older thread I read that only E-Sys V3.27.1 can be used to Inject CADF. Is this still true? Do I need to replace my V3.30.1 and install V3.27.1? Or am I missing something that is causing this error?

Grateful for some help on this.

Use >= 3.30.1 for CAFD injection.

Is FA original unmodified FA when Injecting and Encoding?

Yes, the FA is original, there are no aftermarket devices installed, and the only FDL coding applied on the car now is Battery Class changed for current battery spec installed.

I have no idea on error then. If FA is original, there should be no error coding it. When all else fails, flash ECU.

I have never done a flash before, to be honest sounds a bit intimidating. But if that's the solution I will get to researching. Will I be able to flash only the HU ECU, and not all the ECUs as HU is the problem child here?

Hey Shawn,

While researching how to go about the Flash, I found one of your old post to check the FA if its unmodified. I expanded my FA and see that it references 6NL while a vin code check on bimmer work shows that the option for my car vin is 6NH Hands-free Facility W. Usb Interfac. Could this be causing the error when injecting the CAFD? If so how do I go about changing this? Your old post didn't go any further than advising to check the FA.

Yes, can be the issue for CAFD Injection. It is also likely the reason that Head Unit is missing CAFD in first place.

Save FA, Edit FA, Change 6NL to 6NH, Save FA, load FA in Coding Module, Inject CAFD and VO Code Head Unit.

Thanks much Shawn. I was able to inject the CAFD after editing the FA. In case anyone is having the same issue and do not know how to edit the FA code, the link below detail with pictures how to edit the FA code before you inject the CAFD and VO code the HU ecu.
