Visually, you do not want pads which look like the ones in the below links as these are for the opposing 4/2 piston calipers: https://www.autodoc.co.uk/ferodo/7924110 https://www.autodoc.co.uk/ferodo/11197283 |

Hi everyone, I’m also in need of a brake job (4000mi) left on both front and back brakes. Need a little guidance on ordering my items.
I have a msport lci 440i with the gray calipers in the front and standard in the rear. I already entered my vin in realoem, just wondering how to find the right items. Dealership is quoting me 2400 and next shop says 2000. Any guidance would be appreciated. |

If you've got four pots up front and 2 pots in the rear then that's simple, you want the ones in my earlier post that I said the OP didn't want;
https://www.autodoc.co.uk/ferodo/7924110 https://www.autodoc.co.uk/ferodo/11197283 Disc sizes will be based on whether those 4/2 pots are either blue or plain grey cast aluminium. If they're blue then they'll be 370mm/345mm on the 440i. I believe the grey ones to be 340mm/330mm but someone else can confirm. If you can, go for discs described as two piece where the central bell is aluminium and the braking rotor itself is then riveted to this bell. It's marginally lighter which for such a big disc can reduce unsprung mass. |

Also, either do it yourself, have a friend measure, or take it to a shop you trust to measure the thickness of the rotors to see if you actually need new rotors. If this is your first brake job service interval, chances are you don't need new rotors but that can depend on a number of factors. Point being, don't just blindly trust the dealer who would love to sell you a set for $1500+ |

Front 340mm x 30mm Rear 330mm x 20mm Hawk 5.0 pads are the best street pads, far superior to BMW pads. Parts numbers are on the attached photo. (330's in small print) StopTech full crossdrilled rotors have directional internal vanes for optimal cooling so they have left/right part numbers. There's a reason that BMW uses full crossdrilled on M3/M4. Great bite and best in rain since water can't trap between pad and rotor surfaces. StopTech part numbers 340x30 128.34140L and R 330x20 128.34141L and R |
