"Connect USB device with correct activation code to start guidance"
Hey all
Bit of help please?. I got a 2016 330e. The Navagation year was 2016 so was never updated, regardless was working absolutely fine. I was coding it using Bimmer-Code (wanted the mirrors to fold when i lock the car) which the nav worked fine after so I dont think the coding it corrupted it. At the same time i got BMW connected drive to de-register the car of the previous person and register it to myself so I can use the BMW app. I believe once they done this the Nav stopped working, it now gives the error "Connect USB device with correct activation code to start guidance". So I spoke to connected drive several times and they said they will try to send a map update but nothing came through, then they said they will speak to BMW in Germany to see what they can do and then lastly they just resorted to take it to a dealership to have a look at. I didnt have time to take it to a dealership as I was moving houses. So one night i had a few hours free so paid for the newest version of the maps from ConnectedDrive (£99), downloaded this and put on a FAT32 USB stick with hope that this will fix it. I go the Activation Code for the maps as well. I dont have the activation code on the USB disc as i read in the forums it asks for it and you key it in when it does the update. Any help would be appreciated. |

I'm surprised your activation code wasn't attached to your download.
I would contact connected drive and ask them about it.

Were you playing around with the HMI settings on HU_NBT2? Looks like you coded it to ID5 Plus Plus or ID6 Lite so it changed the map activation scheme.

I believe this comes on the screen due to the internal FSC folder being deleted off the idrive, which can happen after coding, remapping, retrofitting, and ui upgrading.
I think if you contact Gerry at nav codes he could sort this out for you at a price though or course. Shawn Sheridan would be a good guy to contact on here about it, and he can certainly point you in Gerry's direction, but he would be the man for this job. By the way, don't bother wasting any money on BMW helping with this, they don't have a clue when it comes down to problems like this, and them sending a map update on usb to you wont solve it. |
