Telematics Control Unit Help
Has anyone taken apart their TCU and fix whatever made it go bad? I was given two and yup they are both bad so now I have three of these' including my original, so I don't care about opening one and trying to fix it. Why you ask? Why not! I have three dead ones. Any help would be great.

The car won't communicate with the module. I did a multimeter test on to connector and all the fuses and Everything is great there. I then checked the green fiber optic cable and it is omitting a red light. I then checked to see if the module was sending a red light back but it's not. I then connected ista and the amp and the cdc is showing no communication. I then put a fiber loop onto the green cable and then checked ista and that fixed the problem with the amp and the cdc but the tel/mulf still showed no commutations. Now I did that with all three modules which were given to me for free. With all that being said I have determined that the modules are bad. I figured if someone had fixed one before if they would talk me through it I would try to fix it.

Did you replace the battery? That's all mine needed when it went bad...this was in a 2016 340i xd. You're not talking about your 2006, or are you?

That might be a good place to start, assuming yours, like mine, has a battery. It should--it's made to call someone in the event of an accident, where the battery of the car would be cut off by the bst.
No idea where yours is--was in the TIS for mine while the TIS was still up...
