My car will let me connect my phone to it. But when I try to play Spotify through it. It comes through my phone instead. Anyone know why? I want it playing through my car

have you tried to "tell" to spotify in the smartphone to play in the bmw? the car should be appear as a speaker

Have you paired your phone to the car through the multimedia menu? It has an option to enable/disable audio playback + another option for phone calls.
With my phone, once paired and connection established, BT is considered the default audio out.

Just tried that and it hasn't worked. Starting to think my car doesn't have Bluetooth media. Not sure though
