I have got IHKA_VA02 (as BimmerCode shows) and I used LCI panel with heated seats - 64119363546. Coding by BimmerCode works After coding You must start engine and wait for AC modul to refresh (green AC led is flashing). Last edited by GR_BKP; 02-24-2020 at 02:40 AM.. |

Carried out this upgrade today. My car's a 9/2014 and Bimmercode showed it as IHKA_VA02. Within the Air Conditioning module, I coded the Display-Farbumschlag to ACTIV. I then waited until the A/C light stopped flashing after I started the car and bingo. Job done.

What'll happen if you install with no coding? How would the lights look?

Seems it would remain white and function as it should until you code for it to work as intended. This is of course, assuming you have IKHA3 already equipped in your vehicle. If you don't have IKHA3 then it will not work at all from what previous posters have pointed out. |

I can also confirm BimmerCode shows IHKA_VA02 on my 3/11/2014 built BMW 328i but I did the retrofit and coded it and everything works. Simply install unit and bezel. Link BimmerCode and go to "Air Conditioning" then to "Display Color Change" select "Active" then hit code button. Once coding is done disconnect BimmerCode and start the car let engine run. You'll see a green blinking led on top of the A/C button. Make sure the green blinking led on top of the A/C button stops and then you can turn off the engine. I had a hunch my 2014 328i may already have IHKA_VA03 even though BimmmerCode shows IHKA_VA02 because I have a HUD "head up display" which changes from white to amber when lights come on. Update: Disregard. All is functional. I thought I could force the color change by switching on the headlights. Turns out it only functions based on the ambient light sensor.
Hello. I just did this retrofit but the lcd does not change color, nor will it dim/brighten. My production date is 8/14 and per bimmercode IHKA_VA02. After some troubleshooting, I noticed the blinking led during the calibration will only initiate when the AC is on, prior to coding or when the windshield defrost is turned on (if the AC is not on), also prior to coding. Everything functions as should. Anyone have any insight as to what could be the issue? Thanks Last edited by Se7en43; 12-30-2020 at 06:34 PM.. |

I Have a question about wiring:
IHKA -> KCAN_L Pin 22 to Pin 34 FEM A173*7B IHKA -> KCAN_L Pin 23 to Pin 33 FEM A173*7B IHKA3 -> KCAN2_H Pin 22 to Pin 10 FEM A173*10B IHKA3 -> KCAN2_L Pin 23 to Pin 11 FEM A173*10B So, can I simply re-pin only FEM? Pin 34 FEM A173*7B -> to Pin 10 FEM A173*10B Pin 33 FEM A173*7B -> to Pin 11 FEM A173*10B Or 33 and 34 pins used for other functions too, and I need to add new wires from climate ECU to FEM 10,11 pins? |

Hoping someone can clarify and help with this. I have an early 2015 F32 430d with the old AC orange panel. I have used BimmerCode to check the ECU in the climate section and it shows I also have the IHKA_VA02 and not IHAK3. My understanding is that I would need the IHKA3 ECU to allow me to update my current AC panel or is it just a case that I need to replace the panel with part 64119363546_2 which I assume is the LCI panel and code? BimmerCode gives me the option to activate or deactivate the light change which makes me think the ECU is capable of doing it, however the older AC panel is fitted.
