What's a good lease deal for 2013 328 X-Drive

I'm in the beginning stages of leasing a 2013 328i X-Drive M-Sport with a sticker of $49,745. I don't want to put any money down. I have a 2010 135 Vert that I'll be trading in. I owe $18k on the 135 and per various sites I should have 2-3k in equity in it. Just wondering what I should be looking for as far as money factor and selling price of the car. I'm in PA. Would like to keep my payment at $500 or less. Is this possible?

Invoice for that car would be around $46,262 using the 7% below MSRP general rule of thumb. If you want to find the exact invoice, bmwconfig.com should be able to help you there.

It's getting pretty late in the year for 2013s to be sitting around dealer lots, so you should be able to get a pretty good deal on it. Since it's a 328i, they should be even more willing to deal. I would not pay anything higher than like $500 over invoice, but I wouldn't be surprised if you could get $1k (or more?) below invoice BEFORE any incentives/credits.

My advice would be to treat the lease and trade in as separate transactions so you can easily discern what deals you're actually getting on each transaction. If you do have 2-3k equity, use it to pay off fees or put down some extra security deposits, not as a cap cost reduction.

The MF should be .00125 in October and there is $2000 Build Out Cash available + $500 in Loyalty cash.

A payment under $500 with 9% PA tax should be doable.

you should be able to do under $500 a month. PA sales tax isnt that high, so you can roll it into the payment.

if you do MSD, you should definitely be able to keep it under $500

Dealer came back saying the selling price of the vehicle is $46,000. Money factor of .00145, 36/12k miles. $1,800 out of pocket and $629 including tax per month. This does not include my car and we have not discussed any build out cash or loyalty. Sounds a little off.

Bad deal, esp the MF which should be .00125 before MSDs, definitely get more quotes from other dealers.

Not that all deals are the same but I'm $140+ less than you and my sticker was 57k. I paid taxes/fees up front, but still, you can find much better I'm sure of it.

Interested because I am entering the market for this car also but am just starting to research it now. Keep us posted!

Yea, definitely seems like a bad deal to me. I would expect the selling price after Build Out Credit to be below $44k once you factor in the credit and loyalty. My guess is the dealer is already factoring this in to his selling price.

Also, unless you have questionable credit.. I would not accept a marked up money factor. That's crazy. In August I was presented a marked up money factor on a F30 and it was easy to convince them to drop the mark up.

I'd go back and tell them .00125 and $46k before incentives Good luck.

Just got this...

Loyalty is included in that price as well as the build out cash. Loyalty is shown as a rebate and not in the sale price. I am using a conservative money factor at first because .00125 is our elite rate and will be more than happy to give it to you once you qualify. I am using a 11% lease tax rate for Philadelphia.

fees include...

$895 acquisition fee plus 11% tax
$70.55 tag fees
$131 documentary fee
$15.90 online registration
$4 tire tax

and first months payment

by using the elite money factor if you qualify and maybe doing a little better on my car, what if I can get you a payment with a 5 in front of it?

That's a horrible deal. What is the residual?

Assuming residual is 61%, your payment should be closer to the mid $400's after tax.

I think that's actually a fair deal. The 11% lease tax is the killer. Also, the residual (as far as I can tell) is 58% for 12k miles on a 2013 328xi.

NOTE: I am rolling the acquisition/bank fee into the payment. Without it, my calculations are $560/month.

So this is $0 out of pocket?

You would owe a few taxes on misc. stuff, the doc fee, first payment, and title/tags stuff. Drive off should be < $1000 assuming the bank fee is rolled into the lease AND loyalty credit is applied to the sale price. A lot of times loyalty is considered a rebate and would not be applied to sale price, but used to reduce up front cost.

In that scenario:

Bank fee + $500 Loyalty applied to drive off fees (not sale price).
Drive off would probably be around $1300 and monthly $576.

Is the residual for a 12K/36 month really 58%? That seems way too low. I would definitely verify this and report back ... the horrible residuals might just be hammering your payment.

Your MF/rate should be much closer to 2.9-3% APR, or .00121 - .00125. Fight for this. Right now you're at 3.5% APR.

Assuming MSRP of $49,745.00, selling price of $46,000.00 before incentives, and
incentives of $2,500.00, sales tax of 9% for PA, your monthly payment with nothing down (beyond the due at signing fees) should be $540-$545.

How about considering multiple security deposits. (MSDs). BMW offers them and they reduce your MF. Mine ended up reducing my payment almost $50/month which came out to a 10% rate of return on my upfront deposit. I get it back in 3 years. Think it was $3500 total.
