BMW Integrated Navigation & 8,8 Screen
I'm owner of a pre-LCI F31 Touring (production date 08/14 - HU_ENTRYNAV).
I have already retrofitted the BMW Integrated Navigation System on my 6,5 screen. I tried to upgrade my 6,5 screen to the 8,8 one, but unfortunately it did't work. Of course I used the known codes: HU_NBT > 3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 8.8_1280x480 & HU_NBT > 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display, but nothing happened. Do any of the coding gurus of our forum have any clue if the upgrade can be done or if I have to try any other code? By the way the Integrated Navigation uses a different cable than the standard one, so this may causes the problem. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

According to the the wiring diagram of the Integrated navigation system retrofit pdf,it seems that the cable that goes to the Central Information Display connects directly to the navi unit in the glovebox and it doesn't connect to the radio unit.
I connected this cable to the 8,8 display and used the above two codes but nothing happens. Any ideas? |

Unless you have this "Integrated navigation" (never OEM offered in the USA), this thread means nothing to you.

Integrated Navigation is not offered as a factory option in the USA, but BMW does sell it as a retrofit for North America available through their website. Reference part number 65902451135 and the associated wiring harness & controller kits.

I have the same problem. I upgraded of my 6.5inc screen to 10.25 inc by an android 7.1 unit.
After the following coding: HU_ENTRYNAV> 3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 10.25_1280x480 HU_ENTRYNAV> 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display Everything worked fine except the integrated navigation. The integrated navigation is not supported since the resolution of the new screen is 1280x480, will the previous one was 800x480. I have also tried the split-screen option but still nothing. Does anyone know if this problem can be solved through coding? |

Not found a solution to this? It might be a solution to see if the software box for the Navi in the glovebox can be coded? Maybe if some gurus can find a setting file on it to change it

Someone routed through the raw files on the Navi unit itself and it just isn't possible. It's was written for the original 6.5" screen size so all the images, map etc. are for that size screen and it cannot be changed. It just simply wasn't ever for the large 8.8" display. Could all of this software be re-written for the larger screen? I mean *possibly* but extremely unlikely. Would require lots and lots of changes to be made, firmware adjustments too. |

I would actually even settle for black bars at the side - just to be able to have everything else on the big display look better. Even split screen should work, but the incompatibility to use numeral buttons and more is likely making split screen a no-go
