Since when is acceleration itself a crime?
Ended up speeding?

Its like the Maserati in London that got done because the exhaust popped when he downshifted.
I guess it can be perceived as anti social behaviour

Anti-social behaviour... I'd like to see the definition of this!
If you endanger anybody - fair enough.
But if you accelerate (just because you can) and don't go over the speed limit - I don't see legal grounds for penalties, at least not in Europe!

This said, UK is a bit weird so you never know )

Farting in an elevator is anti-social behavior

I agree. And the video that I saw of the Maserati, it was literally just a downshift as he was slowing down for some lights, and they pulled him.

Heres what Section 59 is.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Police_Reform_Act_2002

Quite vague and on the police officers opinion.

Interesting power within the hands of the police... not only to enforce rules but to create them themselves as they see fit. Don't they have to document it in some way (camera recording) or is it again sufficient to just have seen it? So a policeman can stop a car and accuse the driver of "anti-social behavior" without further explanation or proof?

What happens if you object?
I am trying to see both sides here. There are people begging for trouble, but still - there should be sufficient evidence suggesting "anti-social behavior", not just a (safe) rapid acceleration seen by a policeman.

Happy I am not living in the UK...
