Honest question, Mike.

You referenced that the DP would open up the restrictive nature of the turbo. Look how fast the torque comes on with the B58. I'm not sure how much help a DP would do with these vehicles. That, and BMW themselves have said that they built more back pressure into this system than with the previous N55's. Hence why the MPPK has the tune and the CBE. What do we think?

Will need to do more testing and dynos in order to get accurate numbers and gains

Looking at the results below
Intake adds 10 whp
downpipes add 20 whp and 20 wtq
tune + intake + DP add 55 whp and 60 wtq

Gets a little wavy across the last Dyno. Is that the car trying to retard timing?

From the BMS website

"Normally you'd replace the factory chargepipe to install a water/meth kit but in the case of the B58 the factory chargepipe is very sturdy and difficult to remove."

Since the JB4 is in BETA, maps are still limited

Keep in mind these are BETA maps. More testing will need to be done in order to get the best results

The current setup is 100% stock except for a B58 JB4 BETA, BMS intake, and a BMS B58 water/meth kit. Exhaust is fully stock. Fuel was ~93 octane and meth mixture ~80%.

The BMS B58 water/meth kit has some additional parts not included in our normal kits including a PNP nozzle adapter, an EWG connector for the JB4, and some additional fittings.

With the EWG connector in place we're able to control as much boost as the turbo wants to make. But we've found power peaks out ~21psi, despite the turbo willingly making much more boost. Runs from 22-24psi at the same timing values all resulted in the same or less power. So we're probably approaching the stock turbo limits now. Maybe another 15-20whp ultimately in there with exhaust and other work.

Most impressive is how well it holds power to redline especially relative to previous turbo BMW motors like the N54 & notoriously weak top end N55. I'm pretty excited about this new motor.

Did a little dyno testing today with our prototype intake and VM's prototype DP. Runs were done on 93 octane, no meth flowing, so we could try to get a close to apples to apples comparison of before. I was not able to get a run of just the DPs without the intake this go around but previous testing with the intake showed around 7-8whp gains. So the rest is the combination of the DP and slightly more aggressive mapping allowable with the bolt on parts.

Decided to hold off on getting a 340 this year but decision is getting tougher with these kinds of results
