You'll need an ENET cable ($20 on eBay) and eSys software (check the coding forums). After coding the 8.8" screen, you'll get splitscreen functionality automatically for free :-). |

The ENET cable is for the coding part. You use to connect the car to a PC/notebook and code it via eSys software. Besides that, you just swap the screen.

I've read this from RealOEM.com, so they should work, but I can't guarantee it - someone with a 1-series should confirm this |

I Installed the screen, black, nothing it not even booted up, there was only sound from the radio.. until I coded these two lines: HU_NBT > 3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 8.8_1280x480 HU_NBT > 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display and now I have 8.8 navi pro screen, everythings is working perfect! :-D thanks for your help guys! |

Great to hear that, enjoy your new screen!
PS: Yes, without coding the screen is just blank or shows NO VIDEO. EDIT: Please post the screen's part number (65509385202?) and your car model for future generations to find |

Hi all, I am new with F30. I have a business nav (RL_EntryNav_l15405A) with 6"screen. Just ordered a 8.8 screen (part no. 9292248). Hope this will work. Question is: Will the bigger screen will show next move (turn) for the route on the split screen? Do I need any specific coding for that? I have attached the picture to show what I meant by saying "next move (turn)". Thank you.

2. Connect a notebook to your car via the ENET cable and double-check (via eSys software) that you have HU_ENTRYNAV head unit (see the coding forums on how to get eSys software) 3. Order one of the compatible screens, e.g., on eBay. 4. Replace the screen (remove the dash by following the first 30 seconds of this video, then unscrew, unplug the small screen and simply replace it with the larger one) 5. Using eSys, code the following entries: HU_ENTRYNAV > EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = "breites_display" HU_ENTRYNAV > HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = "8.8_1280x480" (Note: the second one is optional, your car may have it set to a high resolution already - my car had it set to "10.25_1280x480" from factory, eventhough I had the 6.5" screen) PS: Some people successfully used BimmerCode app via WiFi to code this (instead of eSys), however I recommend eSys as it is more stable, since its via cable connection. For further details, see the first post in this thread. Good luck with your DIY! |

Hey all - F20 LCI2 owner here. Looking at an 8.8 inch screen from a 2013 M135i - part number 9292246. Is this likely to function, with coding into a 2018 F20 LCI2 with business nav / Entry Nav?
I seem to remember reading elsewhere there are voltage differences / differences between idrive 5 and 6 which might impact functionality. Also, noting the screen I’m looking at is from a 2013 F20, I wanted to be doubly sure. Any help is appreciated! |
