Accessing Internal Antenna Systems

Hi everybody. I am new to the forum, so looking forward to participating in the community. I am looking to access the FM radio antenna plug to duplex it to another device.

Looking for the following:
  • 2019 440 GC (F36)
  • 2018 X5 (G05)
  • 2016 640 FC (F06)

Does anybody know where the radio unit/receive is located on these vehicles and if it is easy to access the FM antenna input plug? I am assuming the receiver is not the control-head in the dash and is probably with the Nav/GPS and other electronics somewhere else.

.

Hmmm. Thank you. I did not think that the Radio receiver was actually in the head unit as there is also the GPS and other electronic pieces and receivers involved <but this is why I asked >. I do not see the typical Motorola-Type FM plug in your image, but BMW may also use special plugs from the combo antennas they have in the shark fin. Somebody mentioned it was in the rear driver-side quarter panel, but I checked on the 640 and there is nothing there.

It does not look to be very easy to pull the head unit out, so want to be sure before I embark on trying this with a brand-new car.

Does anybody else have a view on this?

Thanks.
