Just checking back in after about 1300 miles with the MPPK + Exhaust.

I came out of a stock but broken in 2011 335 (41k miles) when I picked this car up and I got my kit installed at the port, so I didn't have a "before" and "after" on the F30. My first reaction was "hey, this does have a bit more power" but honestly it didn't feel that much more powerful (or loud for that matter) compared to my E92. Let me tell you all that now that I've put over 1000 miles on the car and everything is broken in a bit, it has certainly come to life and I can definitely tell the difference in power every day. It is most noticeable at passing speeds, in particular accelerating from 40-60mph where the car just GOES where my E92 hesitated for a moment before going and didn't have as much grunt. Car is also more responsive off the line.

Oh, and my check engine light has come on a few times. I thought it might have been the fan issue since it seems this car runs cooler than my E92 did, but the dealer says there are no codes for that and it has not gone into limp mode. The only codes they found were for a throttle actuator error, so they have ordered one of those and I'm having it swapped Monday. Hopefully that'll solve it.

Good luck and agree. Hope it gets fixed too. Let us know

2250 miles on car, 1000+ of those with MPPK. So far, so good - no problems at all, and way more power than I expected. Really liking the 8AT more than I thought I would after driving 6MT since 2001 until this past March. I can always drive the wife's 128i Convertible for my 6MT fix, though.

Wow, we have a lot in common! ( well one sentence out of four... ) I do miss it subconciously however. My left foot almost ALWAYS moves. But I do find I'm less lazy about shifting. It took me awhile but I'm getting use to, intuitively knowing what gear I am.

I think I'm going to do an all or nothing crowdfund to raise some cash to do a before/after Dyno. I'm not too keen on doing it on a virgin engine, but whatever.

Yeah, that's not to say I don't stomp the floorboard with my left foot until I remember to put my right foot on the brake before pressing the start button.

Heading into BMW dealership (Concord, CA) on Tuesday to get performance kit installed. Informed dealer of all the issues that have been posted on this thread. Service Foreman seems confident there will not be any issues. I am a Sept 12 build so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Can't wait for the drive home to Sacramento CA. About an hour drive from Concord. Should be a fun drive home. Thanks for posting all the great information.

After a long day at dealer, (8-3) I was not able to bring my car home. Even after giving the dealer a heads up about the issues posted on this site, they were unable to get the MPPK installed. I guess they did not order the DME and now I have to wait for that to arrive before they can finish install. Could be 10 days but they are going to try to expedite that process. In the mean time they gave me a black 328 with some pretty sweet black and red rims as a loaner. Good things come to those who wait....I guess.

I can verify after being one of the first with MPPK it seems as though the steering has gotten tighter in sport mode and I love it!! Pre MPPK it felt almost wobbly on curves..

Got the stickers added on Monday afternoon. On Estoril Blue, they're nice and subtle. You can only see them at certain angles, and don't stick out. That's one thing I disliked about the "body kit stickers" from the front splitter package.

Pics coming sometime today.

Go ahead and call me "boy racer" now. :P

I will be going to the drag strip around Memorial Day. I will post results of post PPK numbers. If I try to get my speed fix on public roads I just end up looking like a douchebag. The car is just too fast now. Is anyone going the F80 route because that thing is going to be even worse.

yeah my family doesn't want to drive with me anymore. My grandmother is petrified to be driven around in this thing.

and it's the scary speeds you see the greatest gains: 70-110mph comes by in an eye blink it feels.

again, in comfort mode, the added weight helps build confidence and makes you take these speeds easier...

I drove my kids and a friends child this weekend, all 3 (3,4 and 5) fit in the back. After just a short burst because I was trying to avoid something, my friends daughter exclaimed this car is going too fast (the 4 year old). My kids call it an explosion. My wife does not care about cars, I don't think she has ever gone WOT on any car, lol.

That's why i am taking baby steps into track driving. First stop is the drag strip.

If anyone is considering PPK, take a drag strip 1/4 mile run before and after. Can't believe I did not think about doing this myself.

Production started yesterday on my order and have ordered a port install PPK. Dumb question, I will have a sport line with AS tires even though the speed limit out of factory is based on tire specs, does the PPK install changes the 130mph limiter up to 155mph?

I am not sure about that. I think someone here said he was able to do more than 130 after ppk. However speedometers are known to be inaccurate at those speeds.

Make sure your tires are rated for those speeds though

Coming home from the symphony the other night heading on to the on ramp of a bridge - wife comments "Isn't it time to slow down now"? She has never ever commented on my driving before. But man this thing moves - I am surprised at the difference before and after MPPK. Its not just more power, its the engine and transmission mapping that really makes this a "Sports Sedan". Best upgrade ever!

Well you should

What I find amazing is even after mppk there is no additional NVH. That's says a lot about the potential of this N55.

Post-MPPK, I have experienced a slight increase in vibration (occasionally) during idle or just as the engine settles in to idle when revving it a bit at a standstill in neutral (6MT)...but nothing jarring or annoying.
