Rear width to match 245 in front
I'm looking at square 245 as an option, but what are the options if I go staggered, to keep front and rear wheels+tires with (amlost) the same overall diameter?
The only combination I can find is: 225/45 in front 255/40 in rear or, 225/40 in front 255/35 in rear I just cant find the right size width for rear to match a 245 front. Any help? |

245/35 -265/35 as the 1M coupe is a very meaty combination that gives the car a bulldog look.
Otherwise a 245/35 and 275/30 is pretty close to the stock 225/40 and 255/35 setup. |

Doesn't 245/35 with 265/35 result in an unequal diameter between front and back?
Will 275 rear fit (on an 18" rim) in a lowered car with Mperformance shspension?

So if you want to have the stock wheels it is 245's on all four corners I guess. I don't think a 245 on a 8 inch wheel will look good (if it is even within recommendations?!). Regarding different sizes front and rear... BMW has 255/35R19 fronts and 275/35R19 rears on the F8x M and used the sizes I mention above on the 1M. So it is not the end of the world. Recommended and allowed wheel widths for 18" 245 tires.
245/40-18, 8.5" recommended and 8-9.5" allowed, 1% shorter than OEM 245/45-18, 8" recommended and 7.5-9.5" allowed, 2% taller than OEM In this thread you find some shots that show how Michelin PSS 245/40-18 fits on 8x18" wheels: f30post.com |
