First attempt at rolling shot
I have always loved a really good rolling shot and finally just decided to try it. Unfortunately I couldn't drive and also take pictures (hahahaha), so I set up the shutter and f stop and showed my daughter (13) what I wanted. Made sure she could work the zoom and what not with out dropping the camera and had my wife drive the chase car. At some point I would like to shoot the car myself for different angles and to try to get lower from the front.
This is probably my favorite. |

Have a few L glasses myself and have transitioned to the EOS R from release and can't seem to get rid of them yet as I love my 35 so I just adapt it to the mirrorless body and enjoy
Nice rolling shot also, I too am wanting to take my own rolling shot but I also want to be inside for the picture too |

For those following along at home, here is another one from that day. I like the angle and the look of the wheels. Not as much perceived movement though.

Also are you trying to match the shutter to close to the speed of the car also? Usually works out quite well for me when I do rolling shots in a chaser. |

thought for sure. Yeah, I showed my daughter how to adjust the shutter. She was all into it. Shots varied from 1/40, 1/60, 1/80. |

You could also try panning and following the car as it's coming past and then take the shot as it comes fully into frame, getting the focus can be a little tricky, but then you get some decent rolling shots with a blurry background.
The race cars are taken at f/4 1/200s and the road cars at f/4 1/160s, ISO 100 for all.

I generally have stopped doing roller shots from car to car. You have so much more control on location, angles etc when using a rig. But it all comes down to cost.
Here are some pictures of the rig and the after shot. The car only moved 3 feet via a slight push from behind I know its not a BMW but it gives you the idea. |
