Which run flats?

I know this is a touchy subject, but I intend to keep the run flats on my car. Currently running Bridgestone. Any recommendations for better as the grip doesn't feel great with them?
Much appreciated

Hi mate, I've got Pirelli and Bridgestone on mine and they are ok - I think you'll find the best by most people on here are Goodyear Eagle F1 runflats.

I've got so much tread left, but i'll be going for those when I replace.

As a lot of my driving is done in the middle of the night I’ve kept my last few BMWs on runflats, I’ve always used Goodyear Eagle F1 runflats, started off on Assymetric 2s but last few sets have been Assymetric 3s, I find them a lot better than the Potenzas which most BMWs seem to be on when supplied.

I run GE F1s - no complaints and I don’t find them harsh or loud like most people.

Saying that I’ve never ran non-RFTs to compare

If you must have run flats then Goodyear Asymmetrics for definite.

In fact, even non run flats I'd recommend Goodyears too!

I've run the bridgestones on my cars for the last 5 years and have no complaints. The only thing I would say is that after 3mm remaining, they lose their grip substantially. As soon as replaced, I'm always presently surprised by them. I'm not sure this is much different to other tyres to be honest...

Run flats vs non-run flats is an artificially charged discussion. Both tire types have their merits.

I prefer Pirelli P Zero run flats vs Bridgestone Potenza S001. Pirelli P Zero tires generate a lot less noise and provide a more compliant ride.

The life expectancy of both tires is 23K - 25K miles at most. Increased road noise will occur as the tires reach the end of their useful cycle.

Goodyear’s F1 RFT all day long. So much quieter that the noisy Bridgestone S001’s on my old car.

I got a pair of F1 Asymmetrics as i had missed the Costco discount. However Kwikfit had 10% off and used topcashback so worked out similar to the Costco offer. I was in desperate need on the front and immediately noticed the grip and noise improvement over the bridgestone RF. I always intended to go the non RTF route but Goodyears are definitely a good tyre.

The rears have a couple of months so they will get replaced with the same after this situation ends

Take care and stay safe everyone.

I had Bridgestone Potenza S001 run flats on my 320i M-Sport on 19" wheels and they were noisy but hard wearing.

I now have Goodyear Eagle F1 run flats on my 420i M-Sport also on 19" wheels and they are much better and feel and sound more like a normal tyre. Will have to see how they wear.

That's my worry.
Usually softer better grip = fewer Miles.
I remember a set of pirellis I had a few years ago, great performance but only got 7500 Miles before the fronts were shot. Haven't gone pirelli since.

Pirelli P Zeros without any doubt; I had them on my 2008 135, 2014 428 and on my 340 2018, was always happy with them.

Just got 53k from a full set of Bridgestone Potenza S001. Ordered a set of Michelin PS4S. Will be fitted as soon as they come into stock.

Reaching 53K miles in Bridgestone Potenza S001 is perhaps a record of sorts. Michelin PS4S is a great choice.

Anyone tried the MPS4S RFT tyres I'm tempted to get them to replace my fronts (P Zero RFT)

https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/car-tyr...r20-90y-911377

Or the upgraded Pirelli's

https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/car-tyr...r20-90y-954717

Which I have on my rears and have been perfect so far.

I highly recommend the Continental Sport Contact 5 SSR.

By far the best fun flats I've had to date. I've had Bridgestone and Pirelli on this car and previous BMWs.

My friend drive my car about 3 weeks ago and was surprised by how well they performed. He has an M135i with Goodyear Eagle F1's normal tyres and his spun when mine did not.

Every single tyre bulge thread I see on FB is on a Goodyear Eagle F1 RFT, I'd avoid based on that reason alone.

With what I'm about to say I known it will probably make a lot of people cringe, but I swear by land sail run flats. I personally have had 3 sets on my old e90 330d which was remapped and has tons of torque. in the wet they are extremely good and the wear rate is very good to. Not to forget the price.
Tho I have noticed that going from 18" wheels to 19" wheels does gives a lesser choice at the moment. But I'm sure they will bring more options out soon.

+1 for Goodyear Eagle F1's. Great traction in wet and dry, and still comforable.

P Zero's for me. I also ran Goodyear Eagles on previous cars and replaced a total of 4 nearside tyres before their time with sidewall bulges.
