I'm on v76 and no problems flashing on my end. I"m using a homemade WiFi agent and iPhone X.

Anyway, I'm just looking for some feedback here. I was wondering if you guys could take a look at a few logs with me for comparison. This is on my F30 N55 EWG. I've been testing the Stage 2 E30 v6.4 map so took a log over the weekend. I think it looks pretty good but did notice a knock event, similar to the knock event I saw on the 93 octane v6.4 map. For comparison, I took a log of the 93 octane stage 2 v6.3, and I didn't see a knock event. Just wondering if the single knock event on the v6.4 maps is something to be concerned about. The logs are titled so you know which is which.

FWIW, they should have a lot better beta testing across a number of supported cars and users so that this stuff doesn't happen. Super frustrating I can't do anything with my car until they solve it.

I was able to install the following on my EWG 535i 8AT. Cross posting here since not much traction in the F10 forums.

GPlus FMIC
VRSF Downpipe
NGK 97506 gapped at .020"
BM3 stage 2 91 octane v6.4
92 Octane Shell gasoline

The ambient temp was in the 90's. I beat on the car quite a bit and into 4th the temps were rising even with the FMIC. In 3rd the temps dropped slightly.

I am still learning how to read these logs. It appears no knocks, iat was a bit high. Timing appeared to be all over the place.

Can someone help me analyze these and explain if they are OK or not? What else should I be looking out for?

Logs look decent for Stage 1. Boost is a little under target but not horribly. You do have a single knock event on the first log at 4600 RPM.

E30 timing looks awesome! Result! And the right way to make power - timing instead of boost

Thanks for the analysis.

I'm currently flashed stage 2 though. I do see the knock on the flash now at 4600.

Any other insight?

Car still adapting? Only have driven it about 10 miles since flash.

Yeah everything looks good except for that one knock event. I wonder if that's just a phantom knock. This log was run with 3.25gal of E85 and 12.75gal of 93oct, which calculates out to an E25 mix and 95.4octane which seems to be a sweet spot for me. Going up to 4.25gal E85 and 11.75gal 93oct only gains me 0.8 octane points (96.2octane) and my HPFP has had issues keeping up with that much ethanol in the past. I might try 3.75gals of E85 and log to see how the HPFP does.

Looks good for 91octane. I would configure your logging parameters and add ambient temp. This will let you know how well you FMIC is performing. The good news is your IATs drop throughout the pull so that's good.

FWIW. I mix 4 gallons at each fill up. Should theoretically put me at E29-30. I will be receiving a ethanol percentage/temp analyzer in the next couple weeks and I'll know for sure what E blend I'm running. I haven't had any issues with the HPFP not keeping up. I guess every car reacts differently to mixes though.

That E30 is a nice clean run, your timing looks great! One thing that sticks out is how cool your coolant temps are. That helps mitigate knock. You are under 200 the whole time. My car is 215-220+ all the time.

Thank you for the synopsis. I will add ambient temp going forward. It was about 95 that day so I was around 10* over ambient and dropping during pulls as you said.

What makes this log look ok for 91? Trying to gain some more knowledge as I log regularly in the future and if I'm okay to start opening her up for an autox later this month.

Timing does not look smooth like other people's logs that I've seen and the throttle closure concerns me!

Received a response from PTF. My octane is not good enough to run their OTS 91 octane tune.

Gas in the Seattle area is consistently 92 octane at the pump. Somewhat shocking that it's not OK to run a 91 tune.

Trying a different gas station today, but still concerned that I have to go to a specific gas station every fill-up.

Any others in the Seattle area have this issue?

Well learned something there. PTF is probably concerned that your timing is all over the place and tying that back to your octane. They have a 91 AC (Arizona, California) map which is a bit less agressive that your could try.

That was my thought too, but the 91ACN Stg 2 isn't showing up in the "OTS maps" so that I can load to "My Maps". Sent PTF a message to see if they could send to me.

Hoping it was just the gas station I used, but I thought I could feel comfortable with Shell.

Really wish we had some e85 or better gas in my area. There is one gas station that sells 100 octane, but its $11 a gallon.

Have you considered a water/meth kit to assist with octane?

Considered it, but i've dealt with that in past cars and don't want to have to deal with it on my daily driver. Want to keep this car simple.

Did a third gear pull after going stage 2 91 octane. The graph shows that I'm not hitting my boost target by a quite a bit 11.5 vs 15 psi. Can anyone provide some insight as to why this would happen? Im at 42k miles with IC, DP, CP, Intake, 8AT. The timing looks a little wonky too.

I hope I cropped it down to the the 3rd gear pull and removed the rest of the drive:

Boost leak is most likely, WGDC is quite high.

Log a 3rd gear pull from 2500 RPM to redline. Your 3rd gear pull starts just over 4800RPM.

Yes you are correct in that you are not hitting your boost target by quite a bit. You may have a boost leak. You can perform a pressure test on the charged air plumbing to see if you hold pressure. You may be able to identify a leak if its big enough just by listening for an air leak. If not, you may need to perform a smoke test to locate the leak.

Can't pm you as new member - can you get the bm3 stickers to the UK for reasonable price?

There are two pulls within this log. This is with Chevron 92 instead of Shell.

First pull looks a ton better. Second pull later in the log doesn't look as clean.

Ambient temp didn't show up for some reason, it was about 65 this time.

Need some good feedback from PTF and others and would rather give up 10hp for consistent and always reliable tune. (If that is the case or is this going to be reliable?)

Thank you Jared. That's exactly what I suspected and it's frustrating to say the least. I previously had a chargepipe to intercooler leak that was resolved after I took it to my local shop. I'll perform the smoke test. It seems like that is the most accurate way to locate the leak. Thanks brotha.

Make sure the IAT channel is toggled to on in the configuration settings whcih is found under the datalogs tab. Just having IAT on your dashboard doesn't mean it will captured in the log.
