Has anyone ever re-positioned the side view cameras?

My F32 has the side view cameras which are virtually worthless, by the time they can see any oncoming traffic I can practically see with my own eyes, plus the resolution is not great. Since I installed a splitter I've become super vigilant about pulling into parking spaces where there's a curb, so I had the idea to mount cameras in the front bumper pointing down at the splitter so I could see how close I was.

The top of the m-sport air vents angle forward and down almost perfectly to look right at the splitter, it looks like it should be possible to mount the cameras here:

Has anyone done anything like this before? I'm considering moving the existing side view cameras or mounting a second pair of cameras and designing a relay system to switch between the two sets.

Second question: can you change the camera field of view with coding parameters? For instance, my F15 has a forward facing camera in the center of the grill which simply shows an image of what's directly in front of the car. However when you enable the 360 surround view it somehow changes the perspective or image ratio in order to show you what is on the ground. I know there are not two cameras in the front, somehow the perspective is changed depending on what feature you've activated.

I also had the idea to re position them simply by aiming them backwards more such that they can be used for blind spot checking as well as side view because the field of view seems wide enough to function for both if angled back more. I have not attempted to angle them back slightly yet though.

Funny. My view has always been that they would be way more useful mounted similarly in the rear bumper... so that one can check traffic when backing off from a parking spot. In the absence of a rear radar system to do this, I never understood the advantage of having side-view cameras in the front (where one is a much better position to take a look), but nothing in the back.
