N20 328i xDrive considering muffler and resonator delete

Hey guys so I had a quick few questions on doing my muffler and resonator delete. My car is bone stock, no tune, intake, nothing other than cosmetic mods. I was wondering if I needed a tune to do a muffler and resonator delete? I got quoted at Midas for $200 for them to do it and install 3 inch straight piping back to my dual tips, can I expect to get cracks and burbles out of doing this? Is it going to sound like shit? I read a bit about it around the forums and I know that I can expect some droning, which I'm ok with as I don't go on long drives. I just want it to sound good and am looking for a more aggressive sound with burbles and crackling without having to do a full exhaust. I plan on tuning the car as well as buying an intake and a few other mods for it down the road but wanted to do this as an inexpensive mod for good sound. Thanks!

No need for a tune to remove the res and muffler. It will drone like mad, do yourself a favor and get an axleback muffler like the mperformance muffler or AA or whichever one you can get cheapest, much better then the insane drone you will get.

Just do the muffler , I have Active Autowerke and tbh it's too quiet for me. I will be doing muffler soon, and I'm leaving my resonator on.

I have an N26 328i and I have a catless downpipe, stock mid section, with a muffler delete. Very very loud on a cold start but once it's warmed up it's just enough for me.

I brought the ZF transmission fluid kit and pan/filter from Euro FCP for $290. My f30 is at 52K. My Indy BMW mechanic quoted $220 for the labor which seems fair in Los Angeles. Took 2 hours and the auto transmission is shifting buttery smooth. Euro FCP is the best with free shipping and no hassle return- no questions asked. On the other hand, don’t buy from RM European based out of Colorado. When I tried to return, they ignored my emails for over one week. Fortunately, I used PayPal and PayPal forced the return of my items back to RM European. RM European has the most terrible customer service team that I’ve experienced in a long time. For the rear differential, I brought the ZF 75/90 GL4 oil from Euro FCP for $11. My mechanic charged me $50 labor for the differential labor. I will do another trans oil kit change at 100k. By the way, my mechanic is a BZW specialist shop and he recommends the trans oil kit change at 60k.

I have this same setup and yup...could start is LOUD my neighbors might not be happy when I leave early in the morning for work! lol but after that, it sounds great throughout.

To the OP, I think deleting the resonator will create way more drone and probably a louder cold start(which I don't want hahaha). Catless DP and muffler delete sounds pretty good.
