I'm going to be flashing stage 1 93oct on my stock 340 in the next week or so. I see in bm3, in addition to my purchased tune there are free map offerings such as OEM 340/OEM MPPK etc. I realize the OEM 340 map states it is m140 and m240 tune, but is that as well as the MPPK tune safe to be flashed on a stock 340?

You shouldn't flash the MPPSK tune if you don't have MPPSK. Shouldn't be too much of a difference but it will be set up to expect slightly more air flow from the opened up MPPSK exhaust.

Otherwise though no, I wouldn't recommend using any of the other OEM tunes if they don't describe your car. When you flash to stage 1, it will create a back-up "stock" flash of your car as BM3 found it, so you won't need to worry about finding the correct OEM tune on BM3.

In the little bit of research I've done so far, my understanding is MPPSK and MPPK tunes are different. I read that on the internet though, so ya know..I only intended on flashing my purchased OTS tune but was curious how they all compared to the OTS Stage 1/93oct tune since they are all for the same engine.

This not true. The MPPSK exhaust has no effect on the tuning or hp.

The free maps can be run on any B58. The MPPSK map is free along with the other OEM maps. Download them and you can flash that map if you get to an area that only has 91oct and still have a little more power over stock.

In BM3, I see MPPK tune, not MPPSK. I've read that these might actually be different tunes. I thought it would be odd if you could not flash that as well as the other free OEM maps for the B58 as they are all for the same engine. I was more or less interested in how those compared to the OTS S1/93oct map.

Yes you will be fine. It adds a pound a boost in a little bit more timing.

Buy the map pack and I would seriously look into the E 30 blend if you have access to ethanol. Car pulls hard on stage 1 e30. Please log and check timing corrections

Good info, thanks! I picked the car up last week, the dealer filled it up, but I dont know what gas they used. As soon as I get some good 93oct in it I'll be tuning. I dont know much about running eth just yet, but I definitely plan on reading up on it.

Consider it a typo at best. There is no "MPPK" tune for the B58. It was an N55 thing. But it's the MPPSK tune.

Hello i have 140i lci stock 340hp and i have mperformance exhaust and i would flash to b58 OEM MPPK map (360hp) on bootmod its safe i can do ?
And i can see 2 MPPK free map b58-F and b-58-G i suppose i need to use b58-F?

It is meant for the MPPK exhaust to be installed. Why not just run a stage 1 91 octane tune? You will get more bang for the buck from those.

But you have to buy BM3 to get this, correct? The MPPK tune direct from BMW is a paid item, and I thought it was only free with BM3 when you buy their license.

I ran the MPPSK on my catless DP 340i for 2 months or so until I did the b58TU pump and went stg 2+, it’s fine to flash the MPPSK tune with out the exhaust
